Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, Chairman of Binh Thuan Province Tourism Association, commented that in the context of rearranging administrative units, if Binh Thuan is merged with Lam Dong, it will create unique tourism products between sea tourism and flower tourism.
Unique and diverse tourism products...
According to Mr. Khoa, with a length of about 192 km and many beautiful beaches, Binh Thuan is known as the land of "blue sea - white sand - yellow sunshine", this is an extremely advantageous tourism resource of this locality.
Last year, with the core destination being Mui Ne National Tourist Area, Binh Thuan tourism industry welcomed nearly 10 million visitors; revenue reached nearly 26,000 billion VND (up nearly 18% over the same period).

Currently, the strengths of Binh Thuan tourism products are still resorts, experiencing sand dunes, exploring Phu Quy island and especially the strengths of sea sports that are favored by international tourists.
Meanwhile, the strength of Lam Dong tourism is climate and flowers, focusing on the flower city of Da Lat, which is loved by domestic and foreign tourists.
According to Mr. Khoa, if Binh Thuan has Cham culture mixed with fishing village culture; Lam Dong has the gong culture of ethnic minorities in Langbiang which is very famous. Not to mention that nature has endowed Da Lat with a cool climate all year round, with outstanding tourism products such as eco-tourism; adventure tourism, agricultural tourism, cultural exploration...

"If the two destinations of Mui Ne and Da Lat are connected by tourism products as mentioned, I think it will be a great mutual support. It will create unique and diverse tourism products on the basis of combining sea tourism and flower tourism" - Mr. Khoa analyzed.
Development must go hand in hand with traditional cultural values.
According to the Chairman of the Binh Thuan Tourism Association, it is possible to combine tourism products that "seem difficult to combine". For example, international tourists who love sea sports in Mui Ne (swimming, kite surfing, windsurfing...) also enjoy the adventurous trekking tour of the Ta Nang - Phan Dung route, about 60 km long through pine forests with diverse and complex terrain connecting Lam Dong and Binh Thuan.

Or a tour to experience Cham culture through the Ka Te festival, Ramuwan festival of the Cham people (Binh Thuan), can be connected with the gong festival in Langbiang of the K'ho and Ma people in Lam Dong.
Regarding transportation, if Lam Dong has Lien Khuong airport, Binh Thuan will soon have Phan Thiet airport along with the North-South expressway system, from Ho Chi Minh City to Mui Ne only takes 3 hours by private car. Or traveling from Mui Ne to Nha Trang by Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway is also only nearly 3 hours.
"The combination of the two destinations will increase the attractiveness of international tourism markets; enhance brand recognition and reduce advertising costs for businesses, attracting social resources to invest in tourism."
However, Mr. Khoa believes that the combination of "sea and flower" tourism is only effective when development must go hand in hand with promoting traditional cultural values. Together, we must protect the environment and natural resources, and encourage the development of community tourism to create sustainable tourism products.
"In my opinion, the merger of Binh Thuan and Lam Dong provinces, if it takes place, will not affect the tourism industry, including the destinations of Mui Ne or Da Lat. Because up to now, tourism in these two localities has had different products, so the merger will not only not affect anything, but on the contrary, it will complement and support each other better to expand the customer segment. In particular, it will reduce advertising costs for businesses, but can organize larger-scale events; social investment resources will be more focused and effective...", said Mr. Tran Van Binh, Vice President of Binh Thuan Tourism Association, a tourism investor in Mui Ne.
