Binh Phuoc: Launching Book and Reading Culture Day in Bu Dop border district

NDO - Reading culture in Binh Phuoc is gradually improving with many annual activities, attracting the participation of a large number of the community. In particular, the "Reading Culture Ambassador" contest plays an important role in encouraging the passion for reading among students. In addition, the province also focuses on developing reading spaces to create conditions for people to access books and form the habit of reading every day.

In response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, on the morning of April 21, Bu Dop border district, Binh Phuoc , organized the launch of activities in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025.

This year, Binh Phuoc organizes two main activities: the "Reading Culture Ambassador" Contest and the Binh Phuoc Province Book Storytelling Contest 2025. Thereby calling on all levels, sectors, agencies, units, organizations and individuals in the province to join hands to contribute to building and developing the reading movement, towards building a learning society and lifelong learning in many rich, diverse and effective forms.

In addition, Binh Phuoc also focuses on activities related to the provincial library system, school libraries, public reading rooms, personal bookcases, family bookcases, agencies, units, clubs and extracurricular activities about books at schools.

Binh Phuoc launched the fourth Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day program.

Le Thi Thu Thao, class 11A8, Thanh Hoa High School (Bu Dop district) is a student who has formed the habit of reading regularly and is an active contributor to building and developing a reading culture in the community, building a learning society, and lifelong learning.

Le Thi Thu Thao expressed: “I hope all students will read books about technology, digital transformation, innovation, startups, and personal development; and at the same time, donate good and useful books to the school library to have more information resources to better serve students' reading needs.”

Students respond to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day.

On this occasion, at Thanh Hoa High School (Bu Dop district), Binh Phuoc Provincial Library organized models, display spaces, book introductions and mobile library services on April 20-21.

Binh Phuoc also connected with units inside and outside the province to donate 2 bookcases worth 20 million VND and more than 1,000 books of various types to 10 schools in Bu Dop district.

In particular, writer Vo Thu Huong, member of the Vietnam Children's Literature Council, came to talk about the topic "Reading methods and knowledge acquisition skills for high school students" to more than 1,000 students in Bu Dop district. Thereby contributing to inspiring reading and guiding reading skills and information acquisition for high school students in border areas, where socio -economic conditions are still difficult.

Leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Phuoc province presented books from publishing enterprises in and outside the province to a number of schools in Bu Dop district.

In Binh Phuoc province, there is currently a provincial library, 9 districts and towns with library activities and a system of school libraries in the area. Of which, the provincial library has 169,676 paper documents (traditional) organized for online search and 16,953 electronic documents to serve well the needs of learning, researching, studying and enjoying reading culture of the people.

In addition, students can easily access books and documents at mobile libraries and online libraries, thereby contributing to building and spreading a reading culture in the community.
