Binh Phuoc to have first university in early 2025

At the latest, in the second quarter of 2025, a branch of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education will be established in the cashew "capital" of Binh Phuoc .

The information was given by Ms. Tran Tuyet Minh, Vice Chairman of Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee, at the press conference announcing the province's planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, on the afternoon of December 11.

Regarding the issue of attracting workers, Ms. Minh said that Binh Phuoc province has implemented many synchronous solutions.

The first is to build cultural institutions to serve workers, including projects on building social housing, planning to build kindergartens in industrial parks, creating favorable conditions and environments to attract high-quality workers to Binh Phuoc with appropriate policies.

In addition, the province requires improving the capacity of job placement centers (under the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Binh Phuoc province), vocational training facilities in the area as well as student streaming, career counseling, etc.

In particular, recently, the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province has signed a cooperation agreement with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education.

It is expected that by the end of the first quarter of 2025 or at the latest in the second quarter of 2025, a branch of the University of Technical Education in Binh Phuoc will be established.

"This will be the first university in Binh Phuoc, thereby making a very important contribution to training high-quality human resources for the province and neighboring areas," Ms. Minh emphasized.

Previously, on October 3, the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education signed a cooperation agreement to establish a branch of the school in Binh Phuoc, aiming to train quality human resources for the locality.

According to the agreement, the branch of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education will use all facilities and equipment of Binh Phuoc College. At the same time, it will use new facilities and equipment invested in and built by the University of Technical Education.

Estimated capital for implementation is about 264 billion VND.

11,000 students want to study at local universities

According to statistics, the annual university and college admission rate of Binh Phuoc is about 71%. Through a survey of nearly 20,000 students, about 11,000 students want to study at university right in Binh Phuoc.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Chien, head of the Binh Phuoc Economic Zone Management Board, said that the province has currently approved 15 industrial parks, 13 of which are already in operation with about 72,000 workers.

According to the plan, by 2050 the province will develop 35-40 industrial parks on an area of ​​18,000 hectares. Therefore, the demand for labor recruitment is very large.
