On August 12, the Party Committee and Command of Regiment 174, Tay Ninh Provincial Military Command commended and unexpectedly awarded a certificate of merit to Private First Class Le Huu Danh, a soldier who fed troops of the regiment, for his beautiful act of picking up lost property and returning it to its owner.
Previously, at around 7:30 p.m. on August 11, after completing his evening duties in the kitchen, comrade Le Huu Danh entered the unit's bathroom and discovered two rings dropped on the bathroom floor. Comrade Danh picked them up and immediately reported the incident to Major Lam Thanh Hue, Political Commissar of the 1st Standing Militia Company, Regiment 174 (because this bathroom belonged to the 1st Standing Militia Company). After checking the information, the unit determined that the two rings that comrade Danh picked up (weighing 4 taels of 24K gold) were dropped by comrade Dang Thanh Khiem. Comrade Khiem is a militia soldier of the 2nd Standing Militia Company who is currently attending advanced training.
Immediately upon receiving the report from the base, Major Dang Thanh Liem, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Regiment 174, on behalf of the Party Committee and Command of Regiment 174, promptly met, commended, and unexpectedly rewarded soldier Le Huu Danh and proceeded to return the property to comrade Dang Thanh Khiem.

In 2023, comrade Danh volunteered to join the army and always tried his best to complete all tasks during his work. Comrade Danh shared: “When I saw two gold rings in the bathroom, I immediately thought of returning them to the person who lost them because they were probably looking for them and were very sad. I think that any comrade who saw this would act like me to help his comrades find their property.”
The good deed of comrade Le Huu Danh was commended by the Party Committee and the Regiment Command, and was widely promoted as a typical example of good people and good deeds throughout the unit.
