(CLO) Binh Duong province has just issued a plan to comprehensively inspect the management of donations and sponsorships at historical and cultural relics, pagodas and temples.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Duong province said that the implementation of financial management and revenue and expenditure in organizing festivals and donations and sponsorships at relics is carried out in accordance with the Law on Belief and Religion and Circular 04/2023/TT-BTC dated January 19, 2023 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

In order to synthesize and evaluate the management of donations and sponsorships at relics in Binh Duong province, on February 22, 2024, the People's Committee of Binh Duong province issued a plan to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the management of donations and sponsorships at historical and cultural relics in Binh Duong province.
Previously, in the 2023 inspection, the total amount of donations collected by the relics was 12.6 billion VND. This amount does not include donations, sponsorships in kind (except gold, silver, precious metals, precious stones), construction works, donations, and sponsorships for religious activities of religious organizations.
Regarding the amount of money spent, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Duong province said that the establishments spent more than the amount of donations collected.
Total expenditure is nearly 13.15 billion VND, of which, management expenditure is more than 1.4 billion VND. Festival expenditure is more than 2.7 billion VND. Rehabilitation and restoration of relics is more than 3.5 billion VND.
In addition, there are other expenses such as propaganda and promotion of festivals and relics; ensuring security and order, health care, environmental protection, fire prevention; renovating and upgrading auxiliary works including toilets, internal roads, electricity, water supply and drainage, parking lots, etc., over 2.8 billion VND.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Duong province said that Binh Duong province currently has 66 ranked relics, including 13 national relics and 53 provincial relics.
Of the 66 ranked relics, 30 are directly managed by public service units and local authorities (Provincial Museum, Department of Culture and Information, District-level Relic Management Board, Commune-level People's Committee, Provincial Police).
25 relics are directly managed by the board of trustees and the board of directors at the communal houses and pagodas.
7 relics are directly managed by the owners/owners of the relics (ancient houses, kilns, and Vo family citadel); 4 other relics are directly managed by Binh Duong College of Fine Arts and Culture, Di An Railway Joint Stock Company, the Liaison Committee of Reconnaissance, Military Intelligence, and Special Forces of Binh Duong province, and Dau Tieng Rubber One Member Co., Ltd.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Duong province, among the above relics, 22 relics have collected donations totaling 12.6 billion VND.
