According to statistics from the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province, in the 2023-2024 school year, this locality has about 548,000 students, an increase of over 37,000 students compared to the previous school year, concentrated in the public sector with more than 23,000 students.
Binh Duong has also built, repaired, and upgraded 15 schools, bringing the total number of schools to 732, including 439 preschools, 163 primary schools, 90 secondary schools, and 39 high schools.
Binh Duong is overloaded with schools due to pressure from large immigration population.
According to records, currently, primary schools in many localities cannot organize boarding schools in the new school year, the reason is that there are no classrooms. This is also a concern for parents because they do not know how to pick up and drop off their children.
To solve the problem of boarding school, some areas with students who are children of workers often send their children to the homeroom teacher's house for a session or cooperate with an outside center to teach, feed and transport students to school. However, this cooperation must be managed by the local Department of Education and Training to ensure the safety of students.
In addition to the pressure on schools and classes, the Binh Duong Education and Training sector is also facing difficulties with a shortage of more than 3,200 teachers and 544 civil servants compared to the average standards for schools and classes, with the highest shortage being in secondary school teachers, followed by primary and preschool teachers.
