Binh Dinh organizes investment promotion conference in Sakai, Japan

On May 31, Binh Dinh province coordinated with the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in Sakai and the Office of Industry and Trade in Sakai to organize an investment promotion conference with Japanese enterprises in Sakai city, Osaka.

Over 40 Japanese enterprises attended the Investment Promotion Conference organized by Binh Dinh province in coordination with the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in Sakai and the Office of Industry and Trade in Sakai on June 1.

The conference was co-chaired by Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Kato Hirosuke - Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in Sakai, and Mr. Kazumura - Chairman of the Office of Industry and Trade in Sakai. Over 40 Japanese enterprises attended the conference.

At the conference, comrade Pham Anh Tuan informed the Japanese government and enterprises about the province's potential strengths, thereby emphasizing that Binh Dinh province always wishes to further promote cooperation in investment, trade, education - training, human resource development and tourism connection between localities and enterprises of the two countries, towards green growth and sustainable development.

He also assessed Japan as one of the leading important partners of Binh Dinh province. Up to now, the province has attracted 19 projects from Japanese investors and enterprises (accounting for 22% of the total FDI projects of the province), with a total registered investment capital of 94.17 million USD (including 10 industrial projects, investment capital of 72.30 million USD; 7 trade and service projects, investment capital of 1.03 million USD; 02 agricultural projects, investment capital of 20.84 million USD). Japanese investment projects operate effectively, contributing to job creation and income improvement for people in Binh Dinh province.

At the Conference, Japanese enterprises highly appreciated the Binh Dinh provincial government. The provincial leaders' visit to Japan to organize investment promotion shows the efforts and determination to promote deep connections between Binh Dinh province and Japanese localities, agencies, organizations and enterprises.

Many Japanese enterprises believe that the potential for trade cooperation between the two sides is huge, including the import and export of strong products between the two sides such as: shrimp, fruits, agricultural products, tuna, industrial products, granite, veneer, pellets, etc. In addition, with a labor force that is friendly, diligent, and hardworking, always receiving praise from Japanese factories and enterprises, it is necessary to strengthen human resource development.

Binh Dinh province has determined that in 2023 and the following years, it will continue to proactively promote and attract more Japanese investors to come and learn about and cooperate in investment.

The conference's chair members answered questions from participating businesses, which revolved around issues of tax policy, trade policy, seaport infrastructure, infrastructure rental price policy, trade services, labor, etc.

Concluding the Investment Promotion Conference, Comrade Pham Anh Tuan emphasized: “Through research, Japanese enterprises have strengths in the fields of: machinery manufacturing industry, mechanics, software industry, artificial intelligence, high-tech agriculture, environment, automation, logistics, seaports, healthcare, education, labor, etc. Therefore, taking the opportunity of this working trip, I hope that the Japanese government, investors, and enterprises will come to study and survey our Binh Dinh province, to see a dynamic and creative Binh Dinh.”

Over the past years, Binh Dinh province has taken advantage of the support of the Government and central ministries and branches to promote and introduce the image, potential advantages of Binh Dinh; proactively organized many investment promotion delegations in the Japanese market, creating a good impression on Japanese investors and enterprises. The province has also established and strengthened cooperative relations with the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Association in Sakai city, Izumizano and many other localities of Japan, especially Osaka prefecture.

Binh Dinh province has determined that in 2023 and the following years, it will continue to invest in completing socio-economic infrastructure, promoting administrative procedure reform, improving competitiveness, and proactively promoting and attracting more Japanese investors to Binh Dinh to learn about and cooperate in investment.

Within the framework of the working visit, on June 1, the provincial delegation visited and worked with the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka and visited a number of locations and facilities in Yoshinocho town.
