Eo Gió tourist spot in Nhơn Lý commune is about 20km from the center of Quy Nhơn city and is near Kỳ Co tourist area – an impressive destination for tourists visiting Bình Định. During the April 30th and May 1st holidays, Eo Gió receives approximately 3,000 visitors each day. It boasts a beautiful walking path along the mountainside and the edge of the sea. Despite the hot weather, tourists still choose this spot to take photos.
Ms. Lu Thi Lien (29 years old), residing in Tan Thanh ward, Tam Ky city, Quang Nam province, and her family chose Quy Nhon as their destination for this holiday. Ms. Lu Thi Lien shared that beach tourism provides her family with a cool and ideal space for relaxation: “This is my second time visiting Quy Nhon city for tourism and relaxation. Last time, when I came here, Quy Nhon city wasn't as developed as it is now. On social media, the images of tourist spots like Ky Co and Eo Gió are very beautiful, and my family wants to visit once to create beautiful memories. After visiting Ky Co, we will join a tour group to places like Hon Kho. The local cuisine suits our taste perfectly. Compared to many other places, it's cooler here now.”
During the holidays, thousands of people from provinces and cities across the country flocked to coastal tourist destinations in Quy Nhon city for tourism and relaxation. Many tourists enjoyed coastal tours to places like Hon Kho, Ky Co, and Cu Lao Xanh island. The demand for water transport to these tourist destinations increased significantly. During the April 30th and May 1st holidays, dozens of speedboats carrying tourists from Nhon Ly fishing port, Nhon Ly commune, Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province to Ky Co tourist area ran continuously.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Dao, owner of the Khanh An tourist speedboat in Nhon Ly commune, Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province, said: “Nhon Ly currently has a fleet of about 30 passenger speedboats. With the current number of 3,000 to 4,000 passengers, the speedboats are constantly turning around. Especially, the current weather with strong southerly winds makes transporting passengers difficult. The number of tourists this year is weaker than last year. Most tourists are from nearby cities like Da Lat, Gia Lai, and Kon Tum, while the number of tourists from other communes like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi has decreased compared to last year.”
During the April 30th - May 1st holiday, tourist accommodations and attractions in Binh Dinh province proactively arranged sufficient staff to serve guests, prepared facilities and necessary conditions to ensure convenience and safety for guests in terms of security, order, and food safety. Tourism service businesses strictly complied with regulations on publicly displaying prices and selling at the listed prices.
At tourist destinations with beaches, rivers, lakes, and waterfalls, the management units have prepared rescue vehicles and personnel, coordinating with health agencies to promptly handle incidents when necessary. During this period, tourist attractions and 4-star and 5-star accommodations in Binh Dinh are offering additional services, gift programs, and local cuisine programs to serve tourists. The occupancy rate at tourist accommodations in Binh Dinh from April 28th to May 1st is estimated at around 70-75%. Larger, 3- to 5-star accommodations along the coast have achieved an occupancy rate of 95%.
Mr. Le Manh Phi, Deputy Chief Inspector of the Binh Dinh Provincial Department of Tourism, said: “The inter-agency inspection team of Binh Dinh province conducts inspections of tourist transport vehicles, especially inland waterway passenger transport vehicles. We also actively coordinate with border guards and other functional forces such as the police and traffic inspectors to remind and correct vehicle owners to equip their vessels with sufficient life jackets for passengers and carry only the permitted number of people, avoiding overcrowding on board during the season when sea waves are high.”
During the April 30th and May 1st holiday period, the number of tourists visiting Binh Dinh province is estimated at 277,000, an increase of 11% compared to the same period last year; total revenue is estimated at 305 billion VND, an increase of 18.5% compared to the same period in 2023.
