Gender equality – the key to success in dual transformation

At the recent Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Forum 2024, Ms. Le Hong Thuy Tien - Chairwoman of the Inter -Pacific Group (IPPG) gave an inspirational speech affirming the role of women in creating a sustainable future.

"In the era of green transformation and digital transformation, if women do not master the "game", we certainly will not be able to succeed. Women's leadership and contributions are not only important but also the foundation for promoting sustainable development of businesses and communities," Ms. Le Hong Thuy Tien emphasized.

The female CEO affirmed that female leaders bring special values such as the ability to coordinate, empathize and be flexible. Women often create a harmonious working environment, promote cooperation and effectively manage multitasking. This not only improves work efficiency but also helps businesses adapt better to market fluctuations.

Women leaders are also able to see things from multiple perspectives and solve problems in a balanced way, minimizing conflicts and creating a more positive working environment. In addition, they often promote equality policies, contributing to building a positive corporate culture, attracting talent and enhancing the image of the business.

At IPPG, policies promoting equality and diversity have always been considered an integral part of the development strategy. The Group has planned an annual budget to implement programs to promote the role of women in leadership. IPPG's subsidiaries all have specific KPIs on gender equality, considering this as a criterion for evaluating management effectiveness.

"We don't just talk, we walk the talk. Gender equality and diversity are not only a social responsibility but also an effective business strategy. A working environment where every employee is valued and has the opportunity to develop, regardless of gender, age or nationality, is the key to business success in the dual transformation era," said Ms. Le Hong Thuy Tien.

In addition to internal efforts, Ms. Le Hong Thuy Tien emphasized the important role of coordination between businesses, the government and public-private organizations. The female CEO believes that it is necessary to build leadership and soft skills training programs for women, helping them to be confident and brave enough to face all challenges.

"To promote women's leadership, we need the cooperation of all parties. It is not only the responsibility of businesses, but also the government and organizations need to participate to create a generation of female leaders who are ready to adapt to all changes," Ms. Tien shared.

She also called on businesses to integrate diversity and gender equality into their sustainable development strategies. Specific action plans and clear budgets would help achieve this goal more effectively.

"Let's build a future together where everyone can grow, contribute and lead. That is the path to not only achieving business success but also creating sustainable value for society," Ms. Le Hong Thuy Tien affirmed.

At the end of her speech, Ms. Le Hong Thuy Tien quoted a famous saying of the former Prime Minister of New Zealand: "If women's full contribution to the economy and society is not realized, not only will women not achieve their potential, but the nation will also not achieve its potential."
