Protests following historic floods in Valencia

According to CNN, some people clashed with police outside Valencia City Hall. Anna Oliver, president of Accio Cultural del Pais Valenciano, one of about 30 groups organizing the protest, said: "We wanted to express our outrage and anger at the poor response to the disaster that has affected so many people."

Given the situation, Valencia's leadership stated that they would have issued a warning earlier if the authorities had been informed of the severity of the situation by an official Spanish flood monitoring agency.

Mr. Mazon also said: "It will take time to hold officials accountable, but now is the time to clean up the streets and help people."
