On the morning of April 23, in Sam Son City, Thanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union coordinated with the Provincial Ethnic Committee to organize a conference to honor outstanding youth, students and successful startups in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in 2024.

Attending the conference were comrade Nguyen Quang Hai, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors, and 300 outstanding cadres and youth union members in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
Thanh Hoa has over 130,000 ethnic minority youths, belonging to the Muong, Thai, Dao, Mong, Kho Mu, Tho ethnic groups, accounting for 13% of the total number of youth in the province. In recent years, the Youth Union at all levels has coordinated with ethnic affairs agencies at the same level to organize a variety of propaganda and mobilization activities to raise awareness among ethnic minority and mountainous youths about the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State, especially major policies and guidelines on youth work, ethnic affairs and socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

To support youth economic development, the Provincial Youth Union coordinates with departments and branches to strengthen human resource training, support capital, and expand youth farm models. Up to now, the loan capital from the Social Policy Bank entrusted to the Youth Union for management has increased to 1,619 billion VND, deployed to 28,819 households. The loan capital from the National Employment Fund of the Central Youth Union channel managed by the Provincial Youth Union is 2,350 billion VND for 27 youth projects to expand the model, creating jobs for nearly 200 workers.
Besides, the Youth Union Startup Idea Competition has helped many young people in mountainous areas start successful businesses.
40 outstanding young union members were honored at the conference.
At the ceremony, 40 outstanding individuals were honored out of a total of 254 outstanding youth, students and successful start-up examples in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in 2024.
Successfully started a business with 100 million VND loan from Youth Startup Fund Ms. Luong Thi Luc, Son Dien commune, Quan Son. In 2020, when she received a loan of 100 million VND from the Youth Startup Fund, Ms. Luc boldly built a model for raising commercial salmon and sturgeon. In order to successfully raise new types of fish, she went to dozens of fish farms across the country to learn about experiences, methods, and ways of raising fish. After much effort, she has successfully raised sturgeon and salmon in Quan Son. Currently, in addition to commercial fish, her facility also produces fish fry for export to Hai Phong, Lao Cai, Quang Ninh... bringing total revenue to 2.5 billion VND/year, creating jobs for 5 regular workers, 5 seasonal workers with an income of 5 million VND/month/person. The "3 good" student at the ethnic boarding school Pham Chau Giang, 12th grade student at Thanh Hoa Province Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities. Pham Chau Giang is a dynamic, strong girl, an active factor in the Youth Union activities of Thanh Hoa Province Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities. Giang currently "owns" a proud list of achievements: 3-good student at the provincial level in 2023, gold medal in karate in the content of the form, silver medal in karate in the content of combat at the Phu Dong Sports Festival of Thanh Hoa Province in 2023 and many certificates of merit for her outstanding achievements in Youth Union activities. The village's son is determined to fulfill his dream of going to university. Mr. Lo Van Bun, Qua village, Quang Chieu commune, Muong Lat district. Lo Van Bun is one of the few children of Qua village who is studying at university. Overcoming adversity, with his own efforts, Bun is currently a second-year student of the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Hong Duc University. Bun said, in the past, there were some people in the village who had passed the university entrance exam but dropped out halfway. He did not want to be like them, he wanted to finish his university program. Agriculture and forestry is his favorite major, after finishing his studies, he will bring useful knowledge back to help himself and the people in the village. With strong determination and a positive lifestyle, Bun won many awards at competitions organized by the school and the province, becoming an excellent student in Youth Union activities and movements. |
