Provincial Party Secretary Lam Van Man inspects the East-West economic development axis road project

STO - On March 20, Comrade Lam Van Man - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Soc Trang province organized a delegation to inspect the East-West Economic Development Axis Road Project. Accompanying him were Comrade Lam Hoang Nghiep - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of relevant departments and branches.

The East-West economic development axis road project has a scale of investment in new construction, expansion and upgrading, with a total length of over 56.6km; 44 traffic bridges; 50 cross-road culverts; longitudinal culvert system; 6 major traffic intersections at the intersections with National Highway Quan Lo - Phung Hiep, National Highway 1, Provincial Road 940, Provincial Road 936B, Provincial Road 936 and Provincial Road 935; a system of intersections with district roads, commune roads and traffic safety systems on the route... The accumulated capital allocated from the beginning of the project to date is 1,903 billion 888 million VND, disbursement reaching 82%.

The cumulative construction value to date has reached about 1,277.3/1,487.4 billion VND (excluding contingency costs), reaching a corresponding rate of 86% of the contract value. Assessing the progress according to Official Dispatch No. 4161/UBND-XD dated December 20, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee, Phu Tai Central Group Joint Stock Company achieved as planned; Tan Nam Construction Joint Stock Company was 4% behind schedule; My Da Construction Company Limited achieved as planned; Hai Duong Embankment and Rural Development Construction Joint Stock Company achieved as planned; Truong Loc Construction Joint Stock Company was 1% behind schedule; the remaining subcontractors achieved as planned.

This is a key traffic project of the province, the completion of this project is very important for the socio-economic development of the province, and is also a great political task of the units participating in the project. Through the actual inspection, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lam Van Man acknowledged and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of the investor and the project contractors. At the same time, he requested that the contractors need to focus more, must plan the construction work very specifically, promptly resolve difficulties to strive to basically complete the asphalt paving by April 15, 2025; on April 30, 2025, the entire route will be opened to traffic. The province will organize a journey through this route from the starting point to the end of the route, on the occasion of April 30... any difficulties, request the construction units to promptly inform the competent authorities for consideration and resolution.
