(kontumtv.vn) – Promoting the tradition of drinking water and remembering its source and commemorating the 50th anniversary of Kon Tum Province Liberation Day, on March 14, Party Central Committee member, Provincial Party Secretary, Provincial People's Council Chairman Duong Van Trang and leaders of departments, branches and sectors visited, offered incense, flowers and paid tribute to heroic martyrs in Kon Plong and Kon Ray districts.
Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Duong Van Trang and the delegation visited, offered incense and flowers at the Kon Plong District Martyrs' Cemetery. This is the resting place of more than 90 martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives in the two resistance wars against the French and the Americans. After the incense offering ceremony, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Duong Van Trang lit incense on each martyr's grave.
The Provincial Party Secretary visited and offered incense at the Kon Plong District Martyrs Memorial Site and the Memorial Stele House in the Central Square of Mang Den Town. Inaugurated in July 2017, the Kon Plong District Martyrs Memorial Site includes a bell tower and a hall to worship the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the two resistance wars against the French and the Americans in Mang Den. In 2023, the project will continue to be upgraded, renovated, supplemented and expanded with a number of items such as roads and green areas with a total cost of about 8.6 billion VND.
At the Kon Ray District Martyrs' Cemetery , Party Central Committee member, Provincial Party Secretary, Provincial People's Council Chairman Duong Van Trang and leaders of departments, branches and sectors laid wreaths and offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs. In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, delegates observed a minute of silence to pay tribute to the sacrifices and contributions of the heroic martyrs for the cause of national liberation and reunification. After the incense offering ceremony, Provincial Party Secretary Duong Van Trang and delegates burned incense on each martyr's grave. This is currently the resting place of 207 martyrs who died in the resistance war against the US to save the country; of which, 83 martyrs' graves have been identified, while the remaining 124 martyrs' graves have not been identified.
Promoting the tradition of drinking water and remembering its source, in recent years, the work of repaying gratitude and taking care of the lives of people with meritorious services and policy families in the province has always been of interest to local Party committees and authorities. In the 2021-2025 period, with a budget of more than 46 billion VND, the province will focus on building, repairing and upgrading 8 martyr cemeteries, more than 20 memorial steles, and embellishing the landscape to meet the requirements of visiting, visiting and educating the revolutionary tradition for the younger generation./.
