Recently, at the Community Cultural Learning Center of Tan Thuan Dong commune, comrade Tran Van Tam - Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of Cao Lanh City Party Committee; comrade Huynh Van Tuan - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee/ Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City had a meeting and contact with more than 69 people participating in eco-tourism in Tan Thuan Dong commune, Cao Lanh city.

From 2022 to now, Cao Lanh city tourism has made many new strides, exploiting its own potential advantages and characteristics to develop tourism. Including the contribution of Tan Thuan Dong commune. The commune launched the Tan Thuan Dong Cu Lao Countryside Market model in early December 2022, maintaining the market from 2-8 pm every Saturday and developing it into a Tan Thuan Dong community tourism destination, creating a new turning point for local tourism. At the same time, effectively promoting the work of promotion, propaganda and the participation of the community and businesses in tourism activities.

Initially, the Countryside Market had only more than 27 registered traders, now it has increased to 66 traders displaying 35 stalls, selling local specialties, traditional cakes, and integrating cultural, artistic and sports activities. Each market attracts more than 1,500 people. On holidays and Tet, if it does not fall on a regular market day, the People's Committee of Tan Thuan Dong commune encourages traders to trade for an additional day on holidays and Tet. The activity attracts from 3,000 to more than 4,000 people from all over to visit and experience. The revenue of each week of normal market activities is about 50 million VND. By the beginning of 2023, the locality will expand the 4-hectare alluvial area to build a scenic bridge, creating conditions for tourists to have a place to rest and enjoy products at the Countryside Market.

In addition to Cu Lao Countryside Market, Tan Thuan Dong also has a few households participating in tourism development such as: Xuan Tuoi vineyard, Sau Nua apple orchard, Hai Cu Lao tourism by green bicycle tour around Cu Lao garden,... On August 7, 2023, the Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee approved the list of agricultural tourism and community tourism development sites in Dong Thap province in 2023, including Tan Thuan Dong community tourism site.

During the meeting, there were 11 opinions expressed around specific contents such as: requesting leaders at all levels to orient more types to diversify tourism products, local specialties, OCOP products, have policies and procedures to support the development of eco-tourism, other suitable tourism services in the river area, diversify cultural, artistic, sports activities and nightlife activities to attract and retain visitors to this Cu Lao commune...

Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Comrade Tran Van Tam - Secretary of Cao Lanh City Party Committee said that through the meeting, the Standing Committee and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee would grasp the situation of people participating in eco-tourism in Tan Thuan Dong commune, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process. The city orients Tan Thuan Dong commune with a comprehensive and synchronous tourism model.
