Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary pays tribute to families of meritorious people

The delegation visited the family of comrade Nguyen Van Linh (1915-1998), former General Secretary, former Secretary of the Central Office for Southern Vietnam, former Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

Comrade Nguyen Van Linh has made many contributions to the cause of building, protecting and developing the country and Ho Chi Minh City. Throughout his life, he was a steadfast and creative communist. More than half of his life was spent with the Southern battlefield, with the Party and people of Saigon - Cho Lon - Gia Dinh - Ho Chi Minh City, and he left behind many valuable lessons.

Also on the afternoon of April 22, the delegation visited the family of comrade Mai Chi Tho (1922-2007), former member of the Politburo, former Minister of Public Security, former Secretary of the City Party Committee , former Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

During 71 years of participating in revolutionary activities, comrade Mai Chi Tho experienced the arduous and sacrificial years of fighting against the French colonialists and American imperialists to gain national independence and unify the country, as well as in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

At the family of comrade Nguyen Van Linh and comrade Mai Chi Tho, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen lit incense to commemorate and deeply express gratitude for the great contributions of the predecessors to the revolutionary cause of the Party, the nation and to the cause of building, protecting and developing Ho Chi Minh City.
