Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang received Chairman of Makara Capital Group, CEO of Heineken Vietnam

DNO - On the morning of January 17, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the City's National Assembly Delegation Nguyen Van Quang chaired a reception for Chairman of Makara Capital Group Ali Ijaz Ahmad during his working visit to Da Nang.

Makara Capital Group Chairman Ali Ijaz Ahmad shared his interest in the Da Nang Financial Center; he said that with his experience, the Group can support Da Nang in effectively developing a financial center model combined with innovation.

This will be different from other financial center models in the world, attracting many strategic partners to explore investment opportunities.

Makara Capital Chairman suggested that Da Nang could learn from the financial center models of China, Singapore, Dubai, etc. Along with that, it is necessary to build the quality of human resources and living and working conditions for experts and workers. Typically, Singapore has many preferential policies for workers, especially the issuance of long-term visas for those who come to work at the Singapore International Financial Center.

Mr. Ali Ijaz Ahmad affirmed that he will send his leading experts to Da Nang to support the city in realizing the international financial center project. At the same time, he committed to investing in the field of innovative startups in the city.

Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang highly appreciated the proposal of the Chairman of Makara Capital Group on building a financial center combined with innovation. At the same time, he asked the Group to accompany Da Nang in perfecting institutions, building laws and developing human resources.

Makara Capital is a global financial services firm headquartered in Singapore, engaged in investment management, structuring and financing. The Group currently manages the USD 700 million Makara Innovation Fund.

On the same afternoon, receiving Heineken Vietnam General Director Wietse Mutters, City Party Secretary Nguyen Van Quang highly appreciated Heineken's expansion of investment in the factory in Da Nang.

The Secretary of the City Party Committee affirmed that the leaders of Da Nang city always care about and accompany Heineken Vietnam Brewery - Da Nang Company Limited during its operation in the city. The city will create favorable conditions and remove difficulties and obstacles for the enterprise in expanding the factory's operations.

The Secretary of the City Party Committee believes that the cooperation between the city and businesses will bring many positive results in economic development between the two sides; at the same time, he hopes that the bilateral cooperation agreements will be implemented soon from the beginning of 2025.

Mr. Wietse Mutters expressed his deep impression of the economic development of Da Nang city; the plans and projects on the establishment of Da Nang international financial center. At the same time, he committed to supporting and accompanying Da Nang in events, culture, and sports in 2025 and wished to contribute more to the development of Da Nang.
