Episode 1 of The Face Vietnam 2023 caused controversy due to conflicts related to the standing positions between the 4 coaches: Anh Thu, Vu Thu Phuong, Ky Duyen - Minh Trieu.
Some viewers reacted by saying that the show was deliberately creating drama by creating a scenario for the coaches to act out. The producers denied the idea that this situation was scripted.
Responding to VTC News reporter, Ms. Trang Le - the program's general director said that reality TV shows always have unexpected situations. With the situation of filming the credits, letting the coaches draw lots for the final greeting scene position was the decision of the Organizing Committee because they wanted to show respect for all 4 coaches in the program equally, even though in real life they may be different in age and career.
In the next episodes, the coach who wins the challenge of that episode will stand in the middle. That is the rule of the game and all the coaches agree with this decision.
"This decision of the Organizing Committee was agreed upon in advance and received the approval of all 4 coaches. However, when all procedures were completed and the filming process began, Minh Trieu and Ky Duyen suddenly had opinions, leading to conflicts and arguments between the coaches. This was beyond our expectations.

The show denied staging the controversy according to the script.
As one of the four coaches of The Face Vietnam 2023, supermodel Vu Thu Phuong also affirmed that there was no such thing as a scripted argument. "Participating in this competition, the organizers will have certain rules. We will only know about the challenges when we come to film. While filming, the other side will be completely shielded. Everything is a secret. That is the good thing about reality TV and I affirm that everything is a natural reflex, not arranged," said the supermodel.
The Face Vietnam 2023 aired with a noisy controversy between the 4 coaches.
