Son secretly returned from Japan, giving his mother a surprise (Clip: Ngoc Bay).
In the video , the young man went to the market where his mother worked, pretending to be a shopper, placing his phone on his chest to record the special moment. The elderly woman was busy at the vegetable stall, unaware that the "strange" customer who stopped by that day was her son.
Although the young man deliberately showed her Japanese bills as a "special signal", the mother still did not recognize her son and innocently said: "I don't know what kind of money this is, I don't know how to spend it".
It was only when Mr. Bay took off his mask that the woman recognized her son. She exclaimed in surprise: "Oh my God!" and burst into tears. The moment the mother wiped away her tears and lovingly scolded her son: "Why didn't you come back?" touched the hearts of millions.
The short video that the young man from Hung Yen shared on TikTok quickly attracted more than 6 million views, hundreds of thousands of likes and comments from netizens.

For the past 8 years, the young man has only returned home once. Therefore, this Lunar New Year, Mr. Bay decided to return to Vietnam to reunite with his family.
This time, he wanted to give his mother a big surprise after many years of separation, so he secretly returned home without prior notice. He did not expect that his sudden appearance would make his mother so emotional.

"My mother has been selling vegetables at Chua Lang market for more than 10 years. We video call every day, so I know exactly where she works and what time. When we met, I deliberately changed my accent and wore a mask to see if she would recognize me, and she really didn't.
When I took off my mask and saw my mother shouting and crying, I couldn't hold back my tears. Many people at the market that day also cried, some teased my mother for not recognizing her child," Mr. Bay confided.
That evening, mother and son immediately took a bus back to Hung Yen to reunite with their family. His father could not hide his joy and emotion when he saw his son return.
This time, Mr. Bay plans to stay in Vietnam for a while, celebrate Tet with his family before preparing documents to go to Japan to sign a new labor contract.
The moment a male worker from Hung Yen reunited with his mother after 8 years not only moved the market to tears, but also touched the hearts of millions of people.
"Only those who work far from home can understand the feeling of celebrating Tet with their family after 8 years. I was very surprised that the clip of the mother and daughter touched and loved so many people," Mr. Bay confided.
