On the morning of February 21, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung visited and congratulated the Hanoi Department of Health and the Hanoi CDC on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day.
Director of the Hanoi Department of Health Tran Thi Nhi Ha said that implementing the policy of the City Party Committee, the capital's health sector also received special attention with a total of 237 construction investment projects, with a total investment of about 17,000 billion VND.
Many projects such as the construction of a heart hospital, kidney hospital, and children's hospital are included in the list of key projects of the city.
However, according to Ms. Ha, the Hanoi health sector is still facing some difficulties with the shortage of medicine and medical equipment still occurring locally at some medical facilities; the vaccination target of some vaccines is affected by the general situation of the whole country.
In addition, she admitted that there is still a shortage of doctors or doctors who do not have a practice certificate and are not qualified to be in charge of medical examination and treatment.
Listening to the thoughts and aspirations of the capital's medical staff at the working session, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung shared and acknowledged the outstanding work results in the past year, especially in disease prevention and control and people's health care.
"Every citizen is grateful to the doctors who, regardless of hardships and difficulties, regardless of fame or profit, have helped people prevent and overcome diseases, preserving the special asset of human beings, which is health," he said.
Presenting congratulatory flowers to the representative leaders of the Department of Health and CDC Hanoi, Secretary Dinh Tien Dung wished all cadres, doctors, civil servants, public employees and workers always good health, happiness, worthy of the noble title "Doctor of the people".
Sharing within the framework of the meeting, a representative of Hanoi Oncology Hospital said that each year the capital has about 16,000 cancer cases and about 35,000 people living with cancer.
Given the above reality, the hospital hopes that the city will pay attention to building a second facility of the hospital in Quoc Oai district; developing specialized departments; and building a smart operating room system connected to leading general medical centers in Vietnam.
At the same time, support the health sector to build a city-wide drug preparation center... to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment to serve the people.
