According to Dr. Quan, the 4 years of implementing the new facility were the most difficult and arduous years, when the unit had to both build and provide on-site medical treatment for the people. Up to now, the new hospital has been put into operation, with a technical infrastructure scale of 1,000 beds, a land area of ​​over 44,300 square meters, and a total investment of nearly 1,900 billion VND.

With the vision of the Ho Chi Minh City health sector, Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital aims to become a complete general hospital, improve emergency capacity, form specialized departments with modern equipment... to meet the medical examination and treatment needs of the people, reduce the burden on end-line hospitals and inner-city areas.

In particular, the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health have directed the hospital to become a specialized stroke center, with comprehensive support from People's Hospital 115.

Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, expressed her joy when the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has drastically implemented the plan to assign 4 end-line hospitals to provide comprehensive support to Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital, to best serve the health care work for people in the region and neighboring areas.

Ms. Thuy suggested that Hoc Mon Hospital proactively develop human resources to meet new environmental conditions; take advantage of comprehensive cooperation and support from leading hospitals to develop protocols, processes, and specialized techniques in examination and treatment; and enhance the position of a gateway hospital.

The leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the Department of Health to continue to monitor, urge and organize training courses to improve the quality of human resources of gateway hospitals; ensure the highest quality of operations; assign the DDCN Board to urgently deploy the investment in equipment suitable to the scale of the project, ensuring to avoid waste...

"The long-term goal is to exempt hospital fees for people, as directed by the General Secretary . Initially, hospital resources may be limited, but we must have a good plan to build autonomy.

I also request support from social insurance so that Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital can complete its tasks well...", Ms. Dieu Thuy said.

Associate Professor Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, requested Hoc Mon Hospital to focus on training qualified human resources. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health also respectfully thanked and requested leading units to actively and comprehensively support Hoc Mon Hospital in professional work and internal management.

"We believe that from now on, people in Hoc Mon and neighboring areas will truly trust when coming to the hospital for examination and treatment," Mr. Thuong shared.
