Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai, Director of Gia Dinh People's Hospital, said that achieving the "Silver Certification" for heart failure treatment from the American Heart Association shows the efforts of doctors and nurses to gradually approach world treatment standards.
According to Dr. Hai, the heart failure unit model has proven its role in the care and treatment of heart failure patients, including heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. The outstanding effectiveness of this model is to optimize medical treatment of heart failure according to recommendations on drugs and doses, thereby improving symptoms and reducing re-hospitalization. In Vietnam today, many end-line medical facilities are implementing the above form of centralized heart failure care.
In that trend, the Cardiology Department of Gia Dinh People's Hospital has built and deployed a heart failure treatment unit with the aim of providing comprehensive care and optimizing treatment for this important group of patients.

The American Heart Association (AHA) is one of the leading organizations in providing recommendations and guidelines for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The AHA Heart Failure Treatment Standards Certification Program is widely spread to improve the quality of the best heart failure treatment for patients. The standards for receiving certification from the AHA are very strict, including ensuring that the percentage of heart failure patients comply with treatment medications, perform paraclinical tests, evaluate and monitor after discharge, and regularly update health status... These criteria must be achieved for at least 85% of heart failure patients and must maintain this result for at least 90 consecutive days. If this result continues to be maintained for 12 months, Silver Certification (SILVER PLUS) and Gold Certification (GOLD PLUS) will be recognized if the results are maintained for 24 months or more in heart failure treatment.
