DNVN - Hanoi Medical University Hospital has just officially opened the High-Tech Breast Imaging Diagnostic Center, marking an important step forward in improving breast cancer screening and treatment capacity in Vietnam.

The event also marked the official appearance of the MAMMOMAT Revelation system with advanced technology from Siemens Healthineers (Germany), present for the first time in Vietnam.

At the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Tuan Linh - Director of the Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology, Hanoi Medical University Hospital shared: “In medicine, diseases related to the breast have not received much attention, both from professionals and in the community. There are localities that do not have a mammogram machine but still perform it using the combined ultrasound and clinical method. Therefore, the establishment of the High-Tech Breast Imaging Diagnostic Area is a breakthrough in examination, helping to raise awareness and encourage women to pay more attention to breast health. I hope that this model will be replicated in medical facilities so that doctors, patients, and the community understand the importance of early detection and treatment of diseases related to the breast."

Hanoi Medical University Hospital officially opened the High-Tech Breast Imaging Diagnostic Center on December 14.

Mr. Fabrice Leguet - Director of Siemens Healthineers Southeast Asia emphasized: "Today's event also once again affirms Siemens Healthineers' sustainable commitment to healthcare: Pioneering breakthroughs, for everyone, in all circumstances, in a sustainable way".

The MAMMOMAT Revelation 3D Mammography System is a premium product in Siemens Healthineers' breast healthcare product line. With the ability to capture 3D Tomosynthesis at a wide angle of 50 degrees, the device provides outstandingly detailed images, supporting the detection of the smallest lesions that are difficult to detect with traditional methods. Another notable highlight is the contrast-enhanced mammography (TiCEM) technology, a new technology in Vietnam, which significantly improves the accuracy in diagnosing and distinguishing benign or malignant breast lesions; a potential solution to replace breast MRI with lower costs and faster implementation time.

In addition, MAMMOMAT Revelation also integrates the ability to support X-ray-guided biopsy, with the support of a 50-degree wide 3D scanning angle and biopsy accuracy of up to ±1 millimeter, providing a comprehensive solution for the entire screening, diagnosis and treatment process for breast cancer patients.

Also within the framework of the opening ceremony of the high-tech breast imaging area, the scientific workshop “Update on advances in breast imaging” was held on the same day, attracting special attention from leading experts at home and abroad. Lectures at the workshop updated delegates with information on the value of 3D mammography, contrast-enhanced mammography in breast cancer diagnosis and screening; breast biopsy under X-ray guidance and the application of artificial intelligence in breast cancer diagnosis and screening. In addition, the scientific workshop was also an opportunity for delegates to share experiences through practicing reading 3D mammography, contrast-enhanced mammography, and practicing biopsy and wire needle positioning under X-ray guidance.

This event continues the efforts of Hanoi Medical University Hospital in improving the quality of patient care, while affirming the pioneering role of Siemens Healthineers in accompanying the Vietnamese healthcare sector, bringing the most innovative and practical solutions to healthcare facilities. This is a clear demonstration of the potential to build a modern healthcare system, supporting effective diagnosis and treatment, bringing practical benefits to patients in Vietnam.
