The patient who was paid the highest amount of more than 4,465 billion VND by the Health Insurance Fund was a patient born in 2019, residing in Hai Duong province, with the main diagnosis of "Hypertension, Type 2 diabetes, kidney failure".

Next is a patient born in 2018, residing in Hoa Binh, with a diagnosed disease, paid 4,372 billion VND.

In addition, 6 patients were paid more than 3 billion VND/person, with the following treatment diseases: Glycogen storage disease; Myelodysplastic syndrome, Acute leukemia of unspecified cell type.

At the same time, two other patients with Glycogen storage disease were also paid VND 2,676 billion and VND 2,534 billion, respectively.

Most patients receiving high value payments from the health insurance fund are young people.

The Law on Health Insurance stipulates that all people have the right to participate in health insurance and have the same scope of health insurance benefits; Health insurance participants are paid by the health insurance fund an unlimited amount of health insurance benefits according to the scope and level of benefits, which can be up to billions of VND/year. In addition, the health insurance fund will fully pay for health insurance health insurance costs according to regulations, without being limited by age, number of treatment days and total health insurance health insurance costs.
