Ben Tre holds meeting to celebrate 80th anniversary of Vietnam People's Army

On December 18, Ben Tre province solemnly held a meeting to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).

At the meeting, Comrade Ho Thi Hoang Yen, Acting Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Ben Tre province, read a speech reviewing the heroic tradition of the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army associated with glorious feats of arms, heroic miracles spanning the history of building and defending the country; 35 years of National Defense Day. For the armed forces of Ben Tre province, with their glorious feats of arms, the State has twice awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces in the resistance war against the US to save the country and Hero in the renovation period, 1 Ho Chi Minh Medal, 14 Military Exploit Medals, Exploit Medals of various ranks and many individuals as Heroes of the People's Armed Forces... Up to now, the Ben Tre Armed Forces have been perfected in terms of organization, stable in terms of staffing, steadfast in political ideology, with high level of qualifications and combat capabilities. The Reserve Force has mobilized 100% of the units, with reasonable military numbers, ready to mobilize to serve local defense needs, drills... The militia and self-defense force is "strong and widespread", 100% of communes and wards have military party cells; 100% of commune, ward and town commanders have basic training, have good leadership and combat command capabilities... On behalf of the leaders of Ben Tre province, comrade Ho Thi Hoang Yen requested all officers and soldiers of the Ben Tre Armed Forces to continue to promote the heroic tradition, solidarity, unity, proactiveness, creativity, and always steadfastly pursue the goal of national independence associated with socialism. In particular, focusing on implementing well a number of important contents such as: steadfastly and strengthening the absolute and direct leadership in all aspects of the Party over the Army and armed forces; stepping up propaganda, political education, dissemination of laws, and maintaining ideological stability among officers and soldiers. At the same time, organize well the propaganda about the significance of historical anniversaries of the country, the Army and the unit. Promote the role of Steering Committee 35, Force 47 in the fight against the distorted arguments of hostile forces in cyberspace to protect the ideological foundation of the Party; maintain and promote close and close ties with the people, do well the work of mobilizing the masses, gratitude activities and military rear policies. Build a strong army in terms of organization, adjust the staffing reasonably, and be capable of completing all tasks.
