Speaking to a reporter from Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Luu Hong Uyen, Head of the Department of Education and Training of District 6, said the above about the incident of a boy named DTK, nearly 2 years old, studying at a private kindergarten in the area, who died after lunch.
According to the reporter's investigation, the boy DTK, a student at the VH Private Kindergarten (District 6), died at Children's Hospital 1 at 1:30 a.m. on September 21. Previously, at noon on September 20, while the class's nanny was feeding K. lunch, K. showed symptoms similar to choking. Immediately, K. was taken to District 6 Hospital by the teachers. There, the hospital made a record with K.'s signs of cardiac arrest and cyanosis. K. received first aid at District 6 Hospital, then was transferred directly to Children's Hospital 1 for treatment.
Mr. Uyen added that immediately after the incident, the Chairman of the People's Committee of District 6 directed the Department of Education and Training to coordinate with the locality to review and report the incident. At the same time, the district leaders also directed the District 6 Police to investigate and clarify the cause of K.'s death.
According to Mr. Uyen, immediately after receiving information about the incident, he went to work at the school, was present at the hospital, and encouraged the family to agree to an autopsy to find out the cause of K's death. The investigation agency also went to work at the school, extracted all necessary camera data, including data on K's class mealtimes, and collected food samples that the children ate on September 20, and worked with the teachers and nannies involved.
The head of the Department of Education and Training of District 6 said he watched the camera from beginning to end. K.'s class had 9 children and 3 teachers. Each teacher fed 3 children. The children ate normally. When it came to feeding K., he seemed to have difficulty eating. The first time, the camera showed the teacher taking the child outside to wash his hands and mouth, then taking him back in.
Seeing that K. was suddenly uncomfortable, the teacher led her to stand next to her. Seeing that K. was acting strange, the teacher patted her back, but she became even more uncomfortable. She picked her up and shook her, but she felt something was wrong, so she carried her to the front. At this time, some of the teachers called the security guard to take the baby to the emergency room, some called the principal to report the news, and some called K.'s family.

Mr. Uyen said that District 6 Hospital is only a few hundred meters from the school, so it only took a few minutes for K. to arrive at the hospital. When he arrived at the hospital, K. was no longer conscious, so he was immediately transferred to Children's Hospital 1. K. died at 1:35 a.m. on September 21 at Children's Hospital 1. According to the death certificate from Children's Hospital 1, K.'s cause of death was recorded as: "Cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest before admission, cerebral edema - acute pulmonary edema".
About 2 or 3 days before the incident, according to the school report, K. was sick and her family sent medicine to the school, asking the teacher to give it to K. to take.
According to Mr. Uyen, in this incident, the kindergarten as well as the competent authorities of District 6 have fully supported, encouraged and shared the great loss of K.'s family as well as cooperated and coordinated with the investigation agency in the process of clarifying the case.
Mr. Uyen affirmed that both the Secretary and Chairman of the People's Committee of District 6 have given close instructions, requesting that it be clarified why the nearly 2-year-old boy died like that. If there is any wrongdoing from the school, the district will handle it seriously because this is a serious incident. "After lunch on September 20, all the remaining children of this kindergarten were completely normal" - Mr. Uyen said.
