In the modern technological era, the development of the digital economy has created a promising environment for startups. From the ability to expand markets and attract diverse customer segments to easier access to financing, the digital economy has changed the way young businesses develop and compete.
The digital economy is a key factor contributing to the development of products from Spico Co., Ltd. (Ham Rong Ward, Thanh Hoa City).
Previously, promoting product images to consumers nationwide required significant costs and time. However, with the development of the internet and online shopping platforms, businesses in general, and startups in particular, can reach customers anywhere with just a click.
From the very beginning of establishing the Spico chili brand, Mr. Le Minh Cuong, Director of Spico Co., Ltd. (Ham Rong Ward, Thanh Hoa City), firmly believed in integrating digital technology into both the production and business processes of his company. He argued that, in addition to investing in product quality, businesses also needed to learn sales techniques to bring their brand closer to consumers. In today's Industry 4.0 era, businesses cannot simply introduce products through traditional methods; they need to quickly adapt to digital platforms. This is not only a way to integrate with the world , but also a "key" to unlocking many great opportunities for their own businesses. Mr. Cuong said: “KTS has played an extremely important role in my entrepreneurial journey. From customers and revenue to brand reputation, a part of what we have achieved is thanks to KTS. Currently, we have completed our own website to introduce and sell our products. In addition, Spico chili products are available on major e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, TikTok, Tiki, OneOne... and social media sites, as well as in some supermarkets and food stores in Thanh Hoa, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City. On average, the company sells 4,000 to 6,000 products per month, with a revenue of 150-200 million VND/month.”
Similarly, thanks to meticulous production processes and a keen understanding of digital platforms, the products of Quang Anh Traditional Medicine Company Limited in Quang Khe commune (Quang Xuong district) have established a firm foothold in the market. To date, the company has expanded its market share across various digital platforms such as Lazada, TikTok, Shopee, etc. As a result, revenue from online platforms accounts for more than 35% of the company's total revenue. The company director, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, shared: “As a business producing traditional medicine products, I previously thought we should focus on improving product quality and didn't need to advertise on digital platforms. However, since our products achieved OCOP 3-star in 2020, our brand has become more widely known. With increased consumer demand, building our own website and creating a Facebook fan page is a long-term solution that helps customers access our products more easily; at the same time, the company has gained a large customer base across the country. KTS is seen as a “launching pad” that helps the company achieve breakthrough growth in both customer base and revenue.”
Furthermore, digital transformation significantly reduces startup costs for businesses. Cloud computing services, SaaS software, and online marketing tools have helped businesses manage their operations more efficiently, saving both time and manpower. In addition, businesses can utilize digital technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze data, improve customer service, and optimize business operations. Mr. Le Ngoc Tung, Director of TND Service and Trading Company Limited, stated: "When we first started our business, we didn't have much capital. Thanks to online tools like Canva and Shopify, we were able to build a professional management system and create effective advertising campaigns without incurring high costs. This truly helped our business survive and thrive in the early stages."
Lessons from successful startups show that, in addition to improving product quality, businesses need to be agile, maximize the benefits of technology, and have a clear strategy and the ability to adapt to today's ever-changing business environment. Digital transformation is not just a trend but an indispensable part of the development of the startup market. Businesses need to seize opportunities, overcome challenges, and constantly innovate to create sustainable value and thrive in the future.
