Closing Ceremony of the Press Management Training Course for Press Managers of the Lao PDR in 2024

On the afternoon of November 8, 2024, the Academy of Journalism and Communication held the Closing Ceremony of the Press Management Training Course for Press Managers of the Lao PDR in 2024.

Attending the closing ceremony, on behalf of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, there was Dr. Dao Nguyet Hang, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation. On behalf of the Lao Embassy in Vietnam, there was Mr. Bun-nhu Xay-pan-nha, Counselor of the Lao PDR. On behalf of the Academy of Journalism and Communication, there was Assoc. Prof., Dr. Nguyen Thi Truong Giang, Standing Member of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Academy; representatives of the leaders of the units under the Academy of Journalism and Communication, lecturers of the class and 15 students of the training class.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the training course, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Truong Giang, Deputy Director of the Academy, congratulated 15 students of the training course on press management for press managers of the Lao PDR for successfully completing the course after 2 months of research and study at the Academy of Journalism and Communication. With a positive and serious spirit, the 2024 training course on press management for press managers of the Lao PDR has completed all the contents of the program and plan. Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Truong Giang emphasized that in order to meet the purposes and requirements of the classes, the Academy of Journalism and Communication has designed the program content to include theoretical topics and practical research trips to central and local press agencies to help Lao students learn about the organizational structure and operations of press agencies in Vietnam, while also having rich experiences and better understanding of the country, culture, people and the renovation and socio-economic development in Vietnam today.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Truong Giang, Standing member of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Academy delivered the closing speech of the course.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Truong Giang affirmed that the success of the class was the result of the efforts and responsibilities of many individuals and units of the Academy of Journalism and Communication and its coordinating units. It was the result of the serious spirit in teaching and communicating of the lecturers, reporters and especially the self-study and the very hard-working and serious learning of the Lao students. Through the organization of training courses on press management for the Lao PDR recently, the Academy of Journalism and Communication will contribute to the successful implementation of the goal of building a team of cadres of the Lao Party and State, deepening and strengthening the special solidarity between the two Parties, two States and peoples of the two countries. Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Bun-nhu Xay-pan-nha, Counselor of the Lao PDR, congratulated the 15 academies on completing the course. The course plays an important role in improving the journalistic skills of officials working in press management in the Lao PDR. The Academy of Journalism and Communication's training and fostering of Lao officials at the undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels has contributed to realizing the cooperation agreement between Vietnam and Laos. He hopes that after returning home, the trainees will effectively apply the knowledge and skills they have learned and researched at the Academy of Journalism and Communication to their work at agencies and units, contributing to improving the quality of Lao press and media.

Mr. Bun-nhu Xay-pan-nha, Counselor of the Embassy of the Lao PDR, spoke at the Closing Ceremony.

On behalf of the 2024 training course on press management for press managers of the Lao PDR, Head of the delegation, Olam Chanthavilay, Lao National Radio, expressed his deep gratitude to the Board of Directors of the Academy of Journalism and Communication, teachers and lecturers for their attention, help and support during the time of studying and researching at the Academy. During the course, the students had practical research at major press agencies in Vietnam such as: Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam; Communist Magazine, People's Army Newspaper. The knowledge learned during the 2 months at the Academy will become valuable lessons for the students to apply in their work at central and local press agencies of Laos.

Head of the delegation , Mr. Olam Chanthavilay, Lao National Radio, on behalf of all students of the 2024 training course on press management for press managers of the Lao PDR, expressed gratitude to the teachers of the Academy.

Students of the press management training course for press managers of the Lao PDR presented flowers to express gratitude to teachers of the Academy of Journalism and Communication.

At the Closing Ceremony, students of the 2024 training course on press management for press managers of the Lao PDR were honored to receive a Certificate of Completion from Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Truong Giang, Deputy Director of the Academy of Journalism and Communication.
