Regarding the incident of a tree falling and hitting a pedestrian in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, on October 8, information from Children's Hospital 2 said that the patient, LBY (6 years old, District 4, Ho Chi Minh City), was taken to the emergency room at 7:31 p.m. on October 7 after being crushed by a falling tree while walking with his family. The child was hospitalized with pale lips and a fracture of the lower third of the radius bone of his right forearm.
Up to now, the patient is on high-parameter mechanical ventilation, high-dose vasopressor, unstable vital signs, continued anti-shock, blood product transfusion. Ultrasound examination recorded "large amount of right pleural effusion, heterogeneous structure of the upper pole of the spleen, subsplenic fluid collection, monitoring for spleen injury; subsplenic fluid collection, large amount of abdominal fluid, echogenic, monitoring for abdominal hematoma".
The child was diagnosed with traumatic shock - multiple injuries due to traffic accident (tree crush), such as liver and spleen injuries, lung contusion, right pleural effusion, and fracture of the lower third of the right radius.
After a hospital-wide consultation, it was decided to perform exploratory thoracic and abdominal surgery to assess the problem of perforated hollow organs and stop the bleeding.

In addition to the above-mentioned pediatric patient, Saigon General Hospital received 3 patients, of which 1 patient in mild condition has asked to go home. The remaining 2 patients include a male patient (47 years old) and a female patient (45 years old). The male patient has a closed fracture of the left acromion and high blood pressure. This patient is currently stable, conscious, and has asked to be discharged.
The female patient suffered multiple injuries, liver contusion and laceration in segment 6, rib fractures 4-12, and a small amount of left pleural effusion. The patient is currently stable and conscious and has been transferred to People's Hospital 115 for further treatment.
Previously, as Thanh Nien reported, during the rain on the afternoon of October 7, a 10-meter-tall tree in District 1 (HCMC) suddenly fell and hit 4 passersby. The victims were taken to the emergency room.
