Preferential loan capital has helped many poor and near-poor women members in Dak Nhau commune, Bu Dang district ( Binh Phuoc province) overcome difficulties and rise out of poverty. As a result, many members have become exemplary entrepreneurs, with successful models being replicated and creating jobs for other women members.
The most important task of the day for Ms. Thi Geo, from Hamlet 1, Dak Xuyen Village, Dak Nhau Commune, Bu Dang District, Binh Phuoc Province, is caring for her herd of 15 cows. For Ms. Thi Geo, the herd is the family's biggest asset. She was able to build up such a large herd thanks to access to preferential loans from the Social Policy Bank of the district through the Women's Association of the village.
Ms. Thi Geo said: "Previously, I only raised 3 pigs. Since joining the Women's Association of the village, I have received attention and support from the Association leader and other members of the Savings and Loan Group, who helped me access loans from the District Social Policy Bank. After a survey, I was granted a loan of 50 million VND by the District Social Policy Bank. With this money, I bought 3 breeding cows and several pigs. After some time caring for them, my family now has 11 pigs and 15 cows."
Like Ms. Geo, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tuyen in Dak Nung village also found many benefits in participating in the village Women's Association. Besides regularly being invited to attend the Association's meetings and receiving useful information, she also gained access to preferential loans to develop her family's economy .
Ms. Tuyen shared: "My family currently owns 4 hectares of land planted with durian, coffee, and avocado. For the past few years, the economy has been difficult, making it challenging to invest in and care for the orchards due to a lack of funds. In 2023, through the Women's Association of the village, I was able to borrow 60 million VND from the District Social Policy Bank to invest in fertilizers, pesticides, and an irrigation system for my durian and coffee orchards. Thanks to this, my family's coffee crop achieved high yields in the last harvest. This is a great encouragement for my family to work hard to develop our economy."
The Social Policy Bank of Bu Dang district provides support to newly-escaped-from-poverty households.
Facilitating access to preferential loans from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies for women members.
Supporting women's economic development and sustainable poverty reduction is one of the key tasks of the Women's Union of Dak Nhau commune, Bu Dang district (Binh Phuoc province) in implementing emulation movements. With this goal in mind, the Union has implemented many activities to support its members and women in developing their economy. These include facilitating access to preferential loans from the District Social Policy Bank, thereby helping many women to engage in production and business activities, increase their income, stabilize their lives, and escape poverty.
Ms. Doanh Thi Thoa, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Dak Nhau commune, said: Currently, Dak Nhau commune has 1,359 female members. Of these, more than 600 members have access to loans from the District Social Policy Bank. This preferential loan capital is a "support system" that helps many poor and near-poor female members overcome difficulties and rise out of poverty. From there, many members have become exemplary economic achievers, with successful models being replicated, creating jobs for other female members. This creates motivation and spreads the initiative and confidence of women in the new era to other members.
Through loans from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, many women members have risen from poverty to achieve legitimate wealth; their annual income is guaranteed in developing their family economies, and they guide poor women in the branch on how to do business and escape poverty sustainably.
The Women's Union of the commune regularly inspects and urges the proper use of capital and timely repayment; it also supervises and manages the savings and credit activities of the Savings and Loan Group. Households that received loans have actively developed production, created more jobs, increased income, and improved their living standards.
Being facilitated to borrow and use capital from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies for the right purposes and effectively demonstrates that policy credit is a solid pillar helping women in remote areas rise up and take control of their lives.
