On the afternoon of February 28th, the Party Committee and Command of the Thanh Hoa Border Guard organized a traditional gathering to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the Border Guard's traditional day (March 3, 1959 – March 3, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Border Defense Day (March 3, 1989 – March 3, 2024).

Attending the meeting were Comrade Dinh Tien Phong, former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Commander of the Provincial Border Guard, and Chairman of the Provincial Veterans Association; former commanders of the Provincial Border Guard and commanders of various departments and offices; and representatives of the Liaison Committee of the Provincial Border Guard Traditional Club and the Border Guard clubs of districts, towns, and cities.

Also present at the meeting were Colonel Phan Si Xon Mi Xay, Political Commissar of the Hua Phan Provincial Military Command, Lieutenant Colonel Kham Lec Chan Su Li, Deputy Commander of the Hua Phan Provincial Security Command, and members of the two delegations from the Hua Phan Provincial Military Command and the Hua Phan Provincial Security Command (Laos).

At the meeting, delegates reviewed the 65-year tradition of building, fighting, and maturing of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard; and the outstanding activities of the Provincial Border Guard during the 65th anniversary of the Border Guard's traditional day and the 35th anniversary of the National Border Guard Day.

Also at the meeting, Colonel Do Ngoc Vinh, Provincial Party Committee member and Commander of the Provincial Border Guard, provided an overview of the achievements of the Provincial Border Guard in managing and protecting border sovereignty and security, Party building, and unit development.

Over the years, inheriting and upholding the heroic traditions of the unit, the Party Committee and the Provincial Border Guard Command have focused on leading and directing the comprehensive implementation of border defense measures, building, managing, and firmly protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security; building the unit to become increasingly strong, comprehensive, exemplary, and outstanding; and building a clean and strong Party Committee.
Notably, the province has maintained and strengthened its core and specialized role in managing and protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security; presiding over and ensuring security, order, and social safety in border areas and maritime regions. It has proactively advised Party committees and local authorities at all levels and closely coordinated with other forces to accurately assess the situation and promptly handle incidents, preventing any unexpected situations. It has successfully implemented projects and plans to strengthen border protection forces, linking them with economic and social development, ensuring national defense and security, disaster prevention, and search and rescue operations in the province's border and maritime areas. It has actively participated with Party committees and local authorities in building and consolidating the political system at the grassroots level. It has done a good job of gathering intelligence and combating crime, especially drug-related crimes. It has regularly exchanged information and fostered solidarity with the border protection forces of Laos. Contributing to building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and developing border.

The efforts of the officers and soldiers of the Provincial Border Guard have been recognized and highly appreciated by the Ministry of National Defense, the Border Guard Command, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, all levels and sectors, and the people. Many collectives and individuals have been awarded commendations. In 2023, the Provincial Border Guard was awarded the Flag of the Leading Unit in the Emulation Movement for Victory by the Border Guard Command.
