Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism , stated this when speaking with Tuoi Tre newspaper about the program to encourage tourists to fly to Ho Chi Minh City at night, which is being implemented by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism in coordination with Vietnam Airlines Corporation, travel agencies, and accommodation establishments.

Ms. Hieu said: "With this program, passengers flying overnight to Ho Chi Minh City will receive a free or discounted first night's room, applicable to guests staying for at least two nights or more."

* The program accepts registrations from July 8th, so when will tourists be able to use the promotions, madam?

- The night flight tourism product in Ho Chi Minh City will be launched during July and August. Locals and tourists who wish to use the service can register.

During this period, residents and tourists arriving in the city will take Vietnam Airlines ' night flights, scheduled before 6 PM and after 9 PM.

The program applies to flights from Hanoi , Hue, Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc to Ho Chi Minh City. Passengers should present their ticket code to check in and receive the program's benefits.

* What is the basis for the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and other units to decide to implement this program?

- The increase in night flights by airlines is based on actual demand to meet the high travel needs of residents and tourists during the peak summer season, especially individual travelers, families, and conference attendees.

Airlines have optimized their fleets and service personnel, thereby contributing to lowering airfares to reasonable prices and offering more attractive options for tourists nationwide during the peak summer season of 2024. This will help stimulate domestic tourism and attract more visitors to Ho Chi Minh City.

With the hotel's policy, when booking a room, guests need to provide flight information that meets the "night flight" requirements of Vietnam Airlines, and when checking in, guests need to present the corresponding boarding pass to the reception staff. Therefore, checking in is very convenient for guests, with minimal waiting time.

* Why is a minimum stay of two nights required to qualify for these benefits, madam?

- Based on their needs, tourists can contact and book rooms directly with accommodation establishments. Each establishment will have different promotional policies and applicable conditions. However, there will be some mandatory conditions, such as tourists must stay at the hotel for two nights or more.

The list of participating accommodations is posted on the websites of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and Vietnam Airlines. This is phase one; we will work with more hotels in the future. Occupancy rates in the city during the three summer months do not exceed 70%, so the probability of guests booking through this program and not finding available rooms is very low.

Minimum stay: 2 nights

Under the night flight promotion program, Vietnam Airlines encourages tourism accommodation establishments to participate in creating product packages that combine air tickets by offering a free or 80% discount on the first night.

Several routes offer attractive and affordable prices, departing from Ho Chi Minh City to other locations including Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc... and vice versa, with departure times before 6 AM and after 9 PM.

Guests staying for at least two nights or more will be eligible for this program's benefits.

This is also a tourism promotion activity for the city during the summer of 2024. Participating tourist accommodation establishments must have a valid star rating or meet the minimum requirements regarding technical infrastructure and services for tourists as stipulated.

Airlines will list accommodations on their websites, so the airline works directly with them to assess quality and offer promotions.
