Boss Doan Nguyen Duc allowed coach Kiatisuk Senamuang to go to Hanoi Police Club, and at the same time promoted Technical Director Vu Tien Thanh to become head coach of HAGL.
"After the three-way meeting tonight, I decided to let Kiatisuk work at CAHN Club for the rest of the season, and Vu Tien Thanh become head coach of HAGL Club," Mr. Duc told VnExpress on the evening of January 9. "This is a normal change in football. Both Kiatisuk and Vu Tien Thanh happily accepted the offer."
About an hour earlier, after returning to Pleiku from Thailand with his wife, Coach Kiatisuk wrote on his personal page: "In 2002, my boss (Mr. Duc) came to my wedding and asked me to join HAGL. In 2024, I will still work for my boss, no matter what he decides."

Kiatisuk is a Thai football legend who won the V-League with HAGL in the 2003 and 2004 seasons. In 2020, he returned to lead the mountain town team. In his first season, he helped HAGL to the top after round 12 with 29 points, but the tournament was then canceled due to Covid-19. After that, HAGL could not show the expected playing style and achievements. They finished the 2022 season in 8th place, in the 2023 season they were in the relegation group and are at the bottom of this season with only five points after eight matches. Coach Kiatisuk once said that because Mr. Duc did not spend much money on recruiting, the team had to use young players, leading to poor results.
Joining CAHN, Kiatisuk will have a better quality squad. The current V-League champion owns a dream squad with many stars such as Filip Nguyen, Doan Van Hau, Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Phan Van Duc, Ho Tan Tai, Nguyen Quang Hai...
According to Mr. Duc, with his experience helping the Thai team win the AFF Cup, SEA Games and understanding the V-League, Kiatisuk can help a strong team like CAHN take off, while Vu Tien Thanh has experience in staying in the league, which will be useful for HAGL during this period.

CAHN's head coach position is currently vacant, after the sacking of coach Gong Oh-kyun following a four-match winless streak in the V-League. Technical Director Tran Tien Dai was given the temporary job, helping the team defeat Binh Duong but was banned for three matches for his reaction to the referee. Kiatisuk's arrival will help CAHN end the period of struggling to find a coach.
Coach Vu Tien Thanh used to lead Ho Chi Minh City, but left in the middle of this season due to disagreements and was appointed Technical Director by HAGL. In the most recent match, on December 27, 2023 in the V-League, Mr. Thanh appeared in the technical area, contributing to helping the home team win the first victory of the season, by defeating Hanoi FC 2-0. Currently, the problems at HAGL do not entirely belong to Mr. Duc, but are shared with the new partner, a bank of Mr. Thuy.
V-League 2023-2024 is on break for the Vietnam national team to attend the 2023 Asian Cup. Therefore, on February 18, Coach Kiatisuk will have his debut match with CAHN, welcoming TP HCM in round 9. It is expected that he will fly to Hanoi this week to sign a contract and go to PVF Training Center (Van Giang, Hung Yen) to meet with CAHN players.
