Club owner Doan Nguyen Duc allowed coach Kiatisuk Senamuang to join Hanoi Police FC, and at the same time appointed Technical Director Vu Tien Thanh as head coach of HAGL.
"After a three-way meeting tonight, I decided to let Kiatisuk continue working at CAHN FC for the rest of the season, while Vu Tien Thanh will become the head coach of HAGL FC," Chairman Duc told VnExpress on the evening of January 9th. "This is a normal change in football. Both Kiatisuk and Vu Tien Thanh happily accepted the offer."
About an hour earlier, after returning to Pleiku from Thailand with his wife, coach Kiatisuk wrote on his personal page: "In 2002, my boss (Chairman Duc) came to my wedding and offered me a position at HAGL. In 2024, I will still be working for my boss, regardless of his decision."

Kiatisuk is a Thai football legend who won the V-League championship with HAGL in 2003 and 2004. In 2020, he returned to coach the team from Pleiku. In his first season, he led HAGL to the top after 12 rounds with 29 points, but the league was subsequently canceled due to Covid-19. After that, HAGL failed to live up to expectations in terms of playing style and results. They finished the 2022 season in 8th place, the 2023 season in the relegation battle, and are currently at the bottom of the table with only five points after eight matches. Coach Kiatisuk once stated that because Chairman Duc did not spend much money on recruiting players, the team had to rely on young players, leading to poor results.
By joining CAHN, Kiatisuk will have access to a higher-quality squad. The reigning V-League champions already possess a dream team with many stars such as Filip Nguyen, Doan Van Hau, Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Phan Van Duc, Ho Tan Tai, Nguyen Quang Hai...
According to bầu Đức, with his experience helping the Thai national team win the AFF Cup and SEA Games, and his understanding of the V-League, Kiatisuk can help a strong team like CAHN take off, while Vũ Tiến Thành, with his experience in avoiding relegation, will be useful for HAGL during this period.

The head coach position at CAHN is currently vacant, following the dismissal of coach Gong Oh-kyun after a streak of four consecutive winless matches in the V-League. Technical Director Tran Tien Dai was appointed as interim coach, leading the team to victory against Binh Duong , but received a three-match coaching ban for reacting to the referee. Kiatisuk's arrival will help CAHN end their search for a new head coach.
Coach Vu Tien Thanh previously led Ho Chi Minh City FC, but left mid-season due to disagreements and was appointed Technical Director by HAGL. In the most recent V-League match on December 27, 2023, Mr. Thanh was present in the technical area, contributing to the team's first win of the season, defeating Hanoi FC 2-0. Currently, HAGL's problems are not entirely due to Chairman Duc, but are shared with a new partner, a bank owned by Chairman Thuy.
The V-League 2023-2024 is currently on break for the Vietnamese national team's participation in the 2023 Asian Cup. Therefore, Coach Kiatisuk will only make his debut with CAHN on February 18th, hosting TP HCM in Round 9. He is expected to fly to Hanoi this week to sign the contract and visit the PVF Training Center (Van Giang, Hung Yen ) to meet with CAHN players.
