Joining hands with 3 'big guys' Singapore, Vietnam Airlines and Long Thanh airport to reach the world

March 13 marked an important turning point in Vietnam Airlines' development strategy, when the national airline signed a series of strategic cooperation memorandums of understanding with three Singaporean giants, right within the framework of General Secretary To Lam's State visit with the goal of turning Long Thanh International Airport into a modern aviation center, reaching international standards and competing globally.

Accordingly, Vietnam's largest airline has "joined hands" with ST Engineering Aerospace to upgrade aircraft maintenance and repair services and cooperate in researching and exploiting maintenance and repair facilities at Long Thanh International Airport, cooperating with Singapore Airport Terminal Services Limited (SATS) at Long Thanh Airport's cargo terminal, expanding international cargo services to more than 215 destinations worldwide.

Cooperation between Vietnam Airlines, SaigonTourist Group and APG Group Pte Limited to enhance the travel experience on Vietnam - Singapore route

In particular, the combination of Vietnam Airlines, SaigonTourist Group and APG Group Pte Limited promises to bring unique air travel products, along with advanced payment solutions, enhancing the travel experience on the Vietnam - Singapore route.

These agreements affirm Vietnam Airlines’ pioneering position in innovation, digital transformation and infrastructure investment in accordance with Resolution 57-NQ/TW, and are a solid foundation for the construction of large-scale aircraft repair hangars, applying modern technology at Long Thanh airport. The goal is to attract cooperation from international airlines, making Long Thanh a prestigious destination on the world aviation map.

Singapore, which has long been a strategic market for Vietnam Airlines in Southeast Asia, is now more important than ever. With 28 flights per week from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Airlines has served more than 7 million passengers over the 30 years since its establishment (May 27, 1995 - May 27, 2025), contributing to promoting trade, cultural connections and tourism between the two countries.

These strategic cooperations are not only the first bricks laying the foundation, but also the launching pad for Vietnam Airlines to "take off" at Long Thanh International Airport, contributing to bringing the Vietnamese aviation industry to international level.
