On November 15, the Hue City Police Department announced that the unit had just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Le Nhat Truong (born in 1984, residing in Tan Thanh district, Long An province); Le Vinh Phuc (born in 1979, residing in An Phu district, An Giang province) and Dinh Thuy Sang (born in 1981, residing in Thu Duc district, Ho Chi Minh City) for committing fraud to appropriate property with new and quite sophisticated tricks and methods.

Previously, on November 4, after receiving a complaint from a gold shop owner suspecting a group of people of defrauding people of poor quality gold to appropriate property, Hue City Police directed forces to investigate and determined that a group of people with signs of professional fraud were still hiding in Hue City to continue committing crimes.
In a short time, the Hue City Police collected evidence proving the crime as well as identifying the hiding place of the above mentioned group of people and summoned them to the headquarters for questioning. With the sharp arguments and evidence of the investigators, the group of people were forced to fully confess their crimes.
At the police station, Le Nhat Truong confessed that due to lack of money to pay his debt, he had the idea of buying low-quality gold online to scam gold shops to get money. Truong invited Le Vinh Phuc and Dinh Thuy Sang to go to Hue City to commit the fraud.

After that, the group bought rings and gold statues of poor quality but very sophisticated and relatively high value, engraved with the symbols of famous gold and gemstone companies in Ho Chi Minh City to deceive the gold shops. More sophisticatedly, this group only held the gold but did not sell it to exploit the negligence of the gold shops in the inspection process. When pawning the gold, this group used fake names and transacted at many different establishments to avoid detection.
Using this method, in just two days, November 3 and 4, the group successfully carried out 10 scams. The evidence seized included 10 gold rings and 7 necklaces seized from the victims. Currently, the Hue City Police Department is consolidating the case file to strictly handle the above group of people according to the provisions of the law.
