Wanted woman arrested after 18 years on the run

On January 21, Loc Ninh District Police ( Binh Phuoc ) handed over Hoang Thi Thu (78 years old), who was wanted by Tuyen Quang Province Police since 2006 after appropriating nearly 3 billion VND in property and then fleeing.

According to the police, in 2006, Hoang Thi Thu borrowed nearly 3 billion VND from the bank and many other individuals in Tuyen Quang province, then appropriated the money and fled the area.

Tuyen Quang Provincial Police have decided to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and issue a special wanted order for the accused Thu.

After fleeing the locality, Thu and her family moved to live in Loc Phu commune, Loc Ninh district. Through investigation, Loc Ninh district police discovered that Thu had many suspicious signs when she did not register for temporary residence with local authorities, did not apply for any personal documents, lived a closed life, and had little contact with people around her.

Special wanted decision for Hoang Thi Thu

After receiving information from Tuyen Quang Provincial Police and identification photos, Loc Ninh District Police coordinated with the Criminal Police Department of Tuyen Quang Provincial Police to invite Hoang Thi Thu to clarify. Faced with undeniable evidence, Thu admitted that she had been a fugitive for the past 18 years.

Loc Ninh District Police have handed over Hoang Thi Thu to Tuyen Quang Provincial Police for handling according to regulations.
