Due to the impact of the incident, some coal-fired thermal power plants in the South were suddenly stopped and renewable energy sources reduced generation.
On the evening of April 23, the National Electricity System and Market Operation Company Limited (NSMO) said that immediately after the incident, to protect and stabilize the power system frequency, the low-frequency protection function was automatically activated according to the calculation scenarios, shedding the load on the power system.
NSMO has coordinated with the handling units and promptly directed the regional power system dispatch centers and the distribution power system dispatch centers of the power corporations to urgently restore the load.

In just about 15 minutes, the basic power system was restored to normal operation and re-energized the loads of the National Power System.
NSMO has also directed regional transmission units and power plants to re-energize power lines to supply power to power plants with problems, support the restart of coal-fired thermal power plants, and quickly restore renewable energy sources.
By 4:30 p.m. the same day, NSMO basically completed the work of energizing the related transformer stations, adjusting the power source to suit the increased load demand during peak hours in the evening and bringing the national power system back to a stable operating state.
"We are continuing to closely monitor the operation of the power system, strengthen supervision and closely coordinate with relevant units to proactively respond, ensuring the national power system is operated safely, continuously and reliably," said the NSMO representative.
