On November 8, the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien - Hue province announced that the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association (VCCA) organized a ceremony to award certificates to 6 typical dishes of Thua Thien - Hue province. Accordingly, the dishes include: Hue beef noodle soup, tapioca dumplings wrapped in roasted pork, mussel rice, loc cake, vegetarian mixed fruit, and vegetarian steamed rice in lotus leaves.
These are the dishes listed in the list of 121 typical culinary dishes in phase I - 2022, under the project "Building and developing Vietnamese culinary culture into a national brand, phase 2022 - 2024" of VCCA.

Thua Thien - Hue is the locality with the most honored dishes in the "Journey to find typical Vietnamese culinary cultural values" phase I - 2022.
With the mission of searching, restoring, preserving, promoting and developing Vietnamese culinary culture to new heights, with the orientation of turning heritage into assets, VCCA has implemented the project "Building and developing Vietnamese culinary culture into a national brand".
The project conducts surveys and collects data on Vietnamese culinary culture to build a "Journey to find typical Vietnamese culinary culture values - a collection of 1,000 typical Vietnamese dishes" and converts that database into an "Online Map of Vietnamese Cuisine" and an "Online Museum of Vietnamese Cuisine". The products of the project will contribute to creating a stepping stone to bring the Vietnamese brand to the world through culinary culture, promote national competitiveness and be a premise for Vietnam's economic development.
On this occasion, VCCA also officially launched the 2023 phase of the project with the program "My Hometown's Delicious Dishes" nominated by the community of experts, chefs, restaurant and culinary businesses, and agencies, departments and sectors in the field of cuisine and tourism in Thua Thien - Hue province. The results of the Program will be decided through evaluation and voting by experts and the community in Thua Thien - Hue province.
