Barge seized illegally transporting more than 100 tons of fertilizer

At 3:35 p.m. on February 21, about 20 nautical miles southeast of Nam Du Island, Kien Giang Province, the authorities of Coast Guard Region 4 discovered suspicious barge KG-58069 and conducted an inspection.

At the time of inspection, there were 9 crew members on barge KG-58069 (all without identification papers) led by Mr. Le Van Hai, 45 years old, with permanent residence in An Giang province as captain. Mr. Le Van Hai admitted that barge KG-58069 was transporting more than 100 tons of URE fertilizer (in bulk form) but had no documents proving the legal origin of the goods.

The functional forces of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command escorted the violating vehicle to the port of Squadron 422 in Phu Quoc.
