Barge seized illegally transporting more than 100 tons of fertilizer

At 3:35 p.m. on February 21, about 20 nautical miles southeast of Nam Du Island, Kien Giang Province, the functional forces of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command discovered suspicious signs of barge KG-58069 and proceeded to inspect it.

At the time of inspection, there were 9 crew members on barge KG-58069 (all without identification papers) with Mr. Le Van Hai, 45 years old, with permanent residence in An Giang province as captain. Mr. Le Van Hai admitted that barge KG-58069 was transporting more than 100 tons of URE fertilizer (in bulk form) but did not have documents proving the legal origin of the goods.
