At approximately 11:30 PM on November 23rd, the Ha Dong District Police received a report from residents about a fight between two groups of young men in front of the "Pho Hung Gu" restaurant (77B Quang Trung Street, Quang Trung Ward, Ha Dong District).
Immediately after receiving the report, the Ha Dong District Police quickly deployed a task force to the scene to verify the information and prevent further illegal activities. Upon seeing the police, the suspects fled the scene, leaving one person lying unconscious with severe head injuries.
Upon verifying the information, the investigating agency clarified that both groups of young men involved in the brawl were criminal elements with numerous previous convictions and criminal records, and were all under police supervision.
Notably, among them is Nguyen Van Son (aka Son "Thao Nua", born in 1980, residing in Ha Cau ward, Ha Dong district). Son has three previous convictions for disturbing public order and gambling, and four prior offenses for disturbing public order.

Through a vigorous investigation, the police clarified the actions of the suspects and apprehended them. On the night of November 23rd and the early morning of November 24th, the police arrested Nguyen Van Son and Nguyen Tien Dat (aka Dat "Dong", born in 1995, residing in Yet Kieu ward, Ha Dong district, with one prior conviction for disturbing public order and one prior offense for illegal drug use), the two ringleaders of the two groups involved in the brawl at the pho restaurant.
The investigating agency determined that the group led by Nguyen Van Son included: Nguyen Quoc Phong (born in 1963, residing in Chuong My district, Hanoi , with one prior conviction for disturbing public order); Tran Manh Toan (born in 1981, residing in Nguyen Trai ward, Ha Dong district, with one prior conviction for extortion)...
The group led by Nguyen Tien Dat included Nguyen Van Khiem (born in 1990, residing in Phuc La ward, Ha Dong district, with one prior conviction for disturbing public order); and Dao Cu Luan (born in 1990, residing in Phu Luong ward, Ha Dong district).
At the investigative agency, the suspects confessed that at around 10 PM on November 23rd, Nguyen Van Son, Nguyen Quoc Phong, Tran Manh Toan, and one unidentified individual (Toan's friend) were eating and drinking at the "Pho Hung Gu" restaurant when Nguyen Tien Dat, Nguyen Van Khiem, and Dao Cu Luan arrived, all intoxicated.
As soon as he sat down, Dat looked towards Son's table and said defiantly, "Who are you, Son? Which one of you is the thug here?" Immediately, Son stood up and walked over to where Dat was sitting, "It's me, Son 'Thao Nua', what do you want?" Then the two started shouting insults at each other.
At the height of the conflict, the two groups clashed, wielding bowls, glass cups, pipes, and other objects, causing a disturbance and chaos in the residential area. The incident only ended when the police arrived at the scene. Nguyen Quoc Phong sustained serious head injuries and lay unconscious; the police took him to the hospital for emergency treatment, where he was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury.
Based on the collected evidence, the Criminal Investigation Department of Ha Dong District Police issued a decision to temporarily detain Nguyen Van Son and Nguyen Tien Dat for the act of disturbing public order; issued an emergency detention order against Nguyen Van Khiem and Tran Manh Toan for the act of disturbing public order; and issued an emergency search warrant for the residences of the aforementioned individuals.
It is known that recently, the Ha Dong District Police have been actively promoting the movement of all citizens participating in reporting crimes. All sources of information are received, verified, processed, clarified, and used to prevent and thoroughly combat illegal activities by the suspects.
Specifically, the Ha Dong District Police Department has instructed the District Police Investigation Agency to closely coordinate with other functional forces to vigorously combat types of crimes that cause public outrage, such as "loan sharking" and crimes committed by thugs and violent individuals.
Before Son "Thao Nua" and Dat "Dong," many other "gangsters" operating in Ha Dong district and some neighboring districts and counties, such as Phuong "No," Hai "Bat Gioi" (Son "Thao Nua"'s younger brother), Minh "Bieu," Hung "Lich," Chien "Thieng," Hung "Toc Dai," Tu "Mo," etc., were arrested by the Ha Dong District Police. Their criminal acts were thoroughly investigated, and they coordinated with the Procuratorate and the Court to strictly handle them according to the law.
