On August 21, the Phu Loc District Forest Protection Department (Thua Thien Hue) received a Javan pangolin, a rare wild animal, voluntarily handed over by local people.
The person who handed over the rare Javan pangolin was Mr. Nguyen Toan (residing in Phu Loc town ward, Phu Loc district).

Mr. Toan accidentally discovered and captured this Java pangolin when the animal was "lost". After capturing the Java pangolin, Mr. Toan contacted the Phu Loc District Forest Protection Department to hand it over for release into the wild.
Immediately upon receiving the information, Phu Loc District Forest Protection Department organized to receive the Tava pangolin from Mr. Toan according to regulations.

Javan pangolin (manis javanica) is classified in group IB in the List of endangered, precious and rare forest plants and animals according to Decree No. 84/2021/ND-CP and is included in the List of endangered, precious and rare species prioritized for protection issued with Decree No. 64/2019/ND-CP of the Government.
This is an animal species that is strictly prohibited from exploitation and use for commercial purposes.
