On the afternoon of November 10th, speaking with a reporter from Dan Tri newspaper, Mr. Hoang Van Khanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Duc Long commune, confirmed the information and said that the first kangaroo was discovered and captured by local people on the evening of November 8th.
By the morning of November 9th, the local police and residents had caught two more kangaroos.

"There had never been any kangaroos like these in the area before. Each one weighed about 13kg. After capturing them, the commune's People's Committee handed them over to the forest rangers for management," Mr. Khanh said.

Kangaroos belong to the group of marsupials, in the family Macropodidae . The term kangaroo is often used to refer to some of the largest species in this family, such as the red kangaroo, the antilopin kangaroo, and the grey kangaroo.
Kangaroos are the national animal of Australia.
