On the afternoon of March 8, Lieutenant General To An Xo, spokesman for the Ministry of Public Security, informed that the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency has issued a decision to prosecute Mr. Dang Van Minh , Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai Province. The police agency also issued an order to temporarily detain the accused Dang Van Minh to investigate the crime of Receiving bribes.

In addition, the Investigation Police Agency decided to prosecute and execute an order to temporarily detain Mr. Cao Khoa , former Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province.

On the same day, the investigation agency searched the residence and workplace of Mr. Dang Van Minh and the private home of Mr. Cao Khoa.

Mr. Dang Van Minh and Mr. Cao Khoa were arrested during the investigation of the case of "Violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences" occurring at Phuc Son Group Joint Stock Company.

The Investigation Police Agency also prosecuted and temporarily detained four other people, including: Ha Hoang Viet Phuong, Head of the Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Industrial Parks, former Deputy Director of the Department of Transport of Quang Ngai province; Pham Ngoc Thuy, Deputy Director of the Department of Transport of Quang Ngai province; Le Quoc Dat, Director of the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Traffic Works, former Head of Department of Transport of Quang Ngai province; Pham Ngoc Cuong, Deputy General Director of Phuc Son Group.

All four people are being investigated for the crime of "Violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences".

Mr. Dang Trung Hoanh, Chief of Office of Mang Thit District Party Committee, Vinh Long Province, was prosecuted and temporarily detained by the investigation agency for the crime of "Taking advantage of influence over people with positions and powers for personal gain".

Previously, the Investigation Police Agency prosecuted and temporarily detained Mr. Nguyen Van Hau (aka "Hau Phao", Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phuc Son Group Joint Stock Company), for the crime of "Violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences".

Vinh Phuc Party Secretary Hoang Thi Thuy Lan and Chairman Le Duy Thanh were arrested . The Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency decided to prosecute, arrest and temporarily detain 9 defendants, including Vinh Phuc Party Secretary Hoang Thi Thuy Lan and Mr. Le Duy Thanh - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, for the crime of "Receiving bribes".
