(NLDO) - On the evening of January 13, the Nha Trang City People's Procuracy approved an order to temporarily detain Binh Con - the Mercedes driver who broke flowers and then drew a sword to "threaten" urban environmental staff.
Private sources said that on the evening of January 13, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh (commonly known as Binh Con, born in 1972, residing in Tan Tien ward, Nha Trang city) was prosecuted and temporarily detained by Nha Trang city police to investigate the act of disturbing public order.
The above decision was approved by the same level of the People's Procuracy. The police searched Mr. Binh's residence in Cam Lam district, confiscating an additional sword and a can of pepper spray.
This is the latest information in the case that Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper continuously reported about the Mercedes driver breaking flowers and then pulling out a sword to "threaten" the urban environmental staff of Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province on January 11.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh (commonly known as Binh Con, born in 1972, residing in Tan Tien ward, Nha Trang city) was prosecuted and temporarily detained by Nha Trang city police to investigate the act of disturbing public order.
Before being prosecuted and detained, Mr. Binh met with the leaders of Nha Trang City Urban Environment Joint Stock Company to apologize for the unfortunate incident. The company accepted the apology.
Previously, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper reported that on the afternoon of January 11, an employee of Nha Trang Urban Environment Company was taking care of and decorating flowers in the Park area (next to Tram Huong Tower) located on Tran Phu Street in Loc Tho, Nha Trang when Mr. Binh picked flowers to give to a woman; the employee discovered and reminded him, but Binh cursed and insulted him, then returned to the car, opened the trunk, took out a sword, and ran to challenge and threaten the employee.
Seeing this, the woman who was with him came to stop him and grabbed the sword. Mr. Binh continued to take a bottle of mineral water from the car and threw it at the company's staff, then drove the Mercedes car carrying the woman away.
The police investigated and seized the sword that Mr. Binh was carrying.
According to sources, Mr. Binh has 3 previous convictions for disturbing public order; intentionally causing injury; and illegally trading in drugs.
