On June 26, the Kon Tum Provincial Border Guard Command said that the unit had just coordinated with functional forces to catch two subjects red-handed transporting 34 heroin cakes.

Accordingly, at around 8:00 p.m. on June 25, on the patrol route near marker 792, about 300m from the Vietnam - Laos border (in Lec village, Po Y commune, Ngoc Hoi district, Kon Tum province), the Bo Y international border gate border guard station (under the Kon Tum provincial border guard) coordinated with the Central Region Drug and Crime Prevention and Control Task Force (Department of Drug and Crime Prevention and Control, Border Guard Command), PC04 Department - Kon Tum provincial police caught red-handed two subjects including Vuong Van Duc (40 years old) and La Thi Tuyet (48 years old, both residing in Phu Lac commune, Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province) illegally transporting drugs from Laos to Vietnam.
The seized evidence was 34 heroin cakes. During the initial investigation, the subjects confessed that all the seized evidence was heroin.
Currently, Kon Tum Provincial Border Guard and functional forces are conducting criminal proceedings.
