This is the result of a long period of preparation and effort to improve S&P Global's Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) profile based on the new criteria and standards of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices.

Bao Viet has officially been upgraded in the ranking of sustainable businesses within the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) group.

In January 2024, Bao Viet continued to receive recognition and an upgrade in the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) ranking by S&P Global. To be evaluated in the DJSI ranking, Bao Viet needed to meet stringent requirements across many factors such as: corporate financial health, share value, transparency, and sustainable operations. Inclusion in this international ranking demonstrates the value and health of a leading enterprise like Bao Viet in general, and the attractiveness of BVH shares in particular, thereby elevating the status of a leading insurance company in Vietnam.

The CSA is an annual index that assesses the sustainability practices of thousands of eligible companies worldwide . In 2021 and 2022, the CSA evaluated over 7,000 global companies. By April 2022, the number of companies invited and eligible to participate in the S&P CSA Index had risen to over 11,000.

With over 20 years of operation, CSA has become a reference tool for companies and investors in assessing the materiality of financial strength, sustainable development activities, and strategies for addressing sustainable development trends, thereby supporting investment decisions. S&P's Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) also allows investors to evaluate a company's performance according to ESG standards, encompassing Economic , Environmental, and Social aspects, with 61 sets of questions specific to each industry, including approximately 100-130 questions across 23 main topics in the three economic, social, and environmental dimensions.

Vietnamese businesses are upgraded on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) ranking for sustainable businesses (Figure 1).

Bao Viet has been upgraded on the DJSI chart.

Overall, Bảo Việt's sustainability improvement efforts in 2023 helped it climb 6 places in the rating scale compared to 2022 and achieve a higher score than 66% of other businesses in the insurance sector (comprising 236 eligible businesses, a 7% increase compared to 2022). The CSA index provides expert assessments from S&P Global specialists as well as evaluations based on proprietary data, which forms the basis for including companies in the world's most renowned sustainability index ranking - the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI).

The Dow Jones Indices Sustainability Index (DJSI) is a global benchmark dedicated to sustainability, ranking leading companies worldwide based on RobecoSAM analysis and the S&P Dow Jones Indices methodology, using free-float adjusted market capitalization and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria. In collaboration with S&P Global ESG Research, a leading organization in ESG research and analysis, companies meeting the DJSI criteria are also included in a portfolio of potential sustainable investment options for interested investors.

Bao Viet wins Second Prize for Sustainable Development Report at the Listed Companies Awards.

In December 2023, Bao Viet Group won second prize in the Sustainable Development Report category. By choosing the message "Live happily with Bao Viet" in its Sustainable Development Report, Bao Viet focused on its core corporate value: placing people at the center of development, determining success or failure. Bao Viet aspires to be a reliable partner, working alongside customers, shareholders, partners, and the community to create a peaceful and prosperous life.

The organizers commented: “The reports contain many new and groundbreaking points. For the first time, a Vietnamese company – Bao Viet Group (BVH) – reached the final round of the sustainable development report evaluation and conducted an ESG assessment according to Dow Jones' international standards.”

Achieving high rankings domestically and internationally demonstrates the values, sustainable business philosophy, and position of a leading corporation like Bao Viet in general, and the attractiveness of BVH shares in particular, approaching and meeting regional and international standards, attracting the attention of stakeholders, and enhancing the company's competitiveness in the market.
