Over the years, Nghi Son town has always paid attention to the restoration, embellishment, preservation and promotion of historical and cultural relics. Many relics have been restored and embellished, attracting a large number of tourists to visit, sightsee, pray for blessings and peace, contributing to the development of local spiritual tourism.

The national historical and cultural relic of Hoang Quoc Cong Dao Duy Tu Temple, located in Son Thang residential group, Nguyen Binh ward, is one of the relics that attracts a large number of people and tourists from all over the country to visit and sightsee. With the attention of the State, in 2017, the temple was renovated and embellished with a total cost of nearly 43.6 billion VND. In 2021, the temple of Hoang Quoc Cong Dao Duy Tu was recognized by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee as a historical relic tourist destination.
The temple has been renovated and embellished to meet the spiritual needs of the people in the ward and visitors from all over the world. To achieve this result, over the years, Nghi Son town has strengthened environmental sanitation and security and order, creating favorable conditions for tourists to visit and sightsee. Mr. Nguyen Van Hung in Dong Ve ward (Thanh Hoa city) - a tourist who visited and saw the temple of Hoang Quoc Cong Dao Duy Tu said: The landscape of the relic is very beautiful, clean, the staff at the temple are friendly and enthusiastic; security and order are guaranteed. My family members are very satisfied with this tour. In the future, if there is a chance, my family will continue to return here.
Along with the temple of Hoang Quoc Cong Dao Duy Tu, many other historical and cultural relics in Nghi Son town have recently attracted a large number of visitors to visit and worship, such as: Quang Trung - Lach Bang scenic relic cluster; Le Dinh Chau temple relic; Am Cac mountain historical relic and scenic spot and Am Cac pagoda; Khanh Trach temple relic cluster - Thien Vuong pagoda... In the first 3 months of 2024, historical, cultural relics and scenic spots in the town welcomed about 14,000 visitors to visit and sightsee.
According to statistics from the Department of Culture and Information of Nghi Son town, there are currently 203 tangible cultural heritages in the town, including: 32 historical and cultural relics, scenic spots ranked, of which 3 historical and cultural relics ranked at the national level; 29 historical and cultural relics, scenic spots ranked at the provincial level; 171 relic sites have been inventoried and protected. In addition, Nghi Son town also preserves many valuable intangible cultural heritages including traditional festivals, traditional crafts, customs and practices.
Implementing Resolution No. 07-NQ/HU, dated March 22, 2018 of the Party Executive Committee of Tinh Gia district (now Nghi Son town) of the 25th tenure on strengthening the leadership of Party committees at all levels in the work of preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage to meet the requirements of accelerating industrialization and urbanization in the period of 2018-2025, recently, the Standing Committee of Nghi Son Town Party Committee has directed the Town People's Committee and relevant agencies to review and supplement the purpose of land use for the construction of cultural works and relics in the annual land use plan based on current regulations. Focus on planning, expanding the relic site and granting certificates of land use rights for relics. From 2018 to present, the Provincial People's Committee has approved the planning and expansion of 4 relics: Am Cac mountain scenic relic and Am Cac pagoda site (Dinh Hai), the revolutionary historical relic where the first communist cell was established (Tan Dan); Dot Tien pagoda (Hai Thanh) and the relic cluster of Khanh Trach temple and Thien Vuong pagoda (Binh Minh).
In addition, Nghi Son town always focuses on the work of restoring, embellishing, preventing degradation of relics and promoting intangible cultural heritages. From 2018 to now, the town has invested in, restored, and embellished 16 relics, with a total investment of 73.7 billion VND. Of which, the provincial budget is 20.7 billion VND, the town budget is 46.8 billion VND, and social mobilization is 5.5 billion VND. Historical and cultural relics and scenic spots in the town have been invested in, restored, embellished, and prevented from degradation and have gradually come into operation to meet the needs of spiritual beliefs, historical and revolutionary tradition education, and sightseeing needs of the people and tourists.
In addition, Nghi Son Town People's Committee has coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the University of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize courses on management of services, cultural institutions, sports, and cultural heritage for officials working in cultural management from the town to communes and wards; sending members of the relic management board and relic caretakers to participate in training courses on management and interpretation at relics. From 2018 to present, Nghi Son Town has organized 6 courses on management of services, cultural institutions, sports, and cultural heritage. Thanks to good training to improve professional skills, the team of officials and civil servants working in cultural management has met the requirements of the job, contributing to preserving and promoting the values of historical and cultural relics.
Comrade Mai Sy Lan, Vice Chairman of Nghi Son Town People's Committee, said: Promoting the achieved results, in the coming time, Nghi Son Town will continue to enhance the effectiveness of leadership, direction and administration in the management, preservation and promotion of cultural heritage values associated with the development of spiritual tourism. Identify key relics to have plans for restoration and embellishment and propose the Provincial People's Committee to recognize them as spiritual tourism destinations. Invest in building infrastructure at historical, cultural and scenic relics, connecting with tourist areas and spots in the town to develop tours and tourist routes. Focus on training and improving human resources for the tourism industry; build a safe and friendly tourism environment; encourage and create all conditions for the local community to participate and benefit from the development of spiritual and cultural tourism. Thereby, contributing to creating jobs, increasing income for people, promoting the socio-economic development of the town.
