On the morning of November 14, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to listen to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development report on the Project to preserve, restore and develop traditional craft villages and occupations associated with tourism until 2030 in Thai Binh province. Comrade Lai Van Hoan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were leaders of a number of departments, branches and localities.

Currently, Thai Binh province has 141 craft villages recognized by the Provincial People's Committee, of which 102 craft villages are still maintaining production activities, 18 craft villages are operating at a low level and 21 craft villages are no longer operating. The project to preserve, restore and develop craft villages and traditional crafts associated with tourism in the period up to 2030 in Thai Binh province aims to preserve and promote traditional crafts, combining traditional family secrets of manual production with modern machinery and technology to create traditional products, bearing regional cultural identity with high economic value, meeting domestic consumption and export needs. Diversify products, promote the value of traditional craft products associated with tourism, create jobs and stable income for people. Build brands of craft village products to ensure consumption conditions in stores, supermarkets and e-commerce trading floors. The Project's goal is that by 2025, over 70% of craft villages and traditional craft villages will operate effectively, and at least 50% of traditional craft villages will have products classified according to the OCOP program. By 2030, 20 new occupations and 10 traditional craft villages will be recognized, 5 craft villages will be developed in association with tourism, and at least 50% of craft villages will have products with protected trademarks.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Lai Van Hoan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized the necessity of issuing a Project on preservation, restoration and development of traditional craft villages associated with tourism in the period up to 2030 in Thai Binh province. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested to adjust the target number of traditional craft villages that need to be restored and preserved appropriately; propose plans and support levels to create motivation for the development of traditional craft villages. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to receive, synthesize and adjust comments from departments and branches and promptly submit the Project to the Provincial People's Committee for promulgation.
