Preserving medicinal herbs at the "gate of heaven"

Among the special-use forests on the "heavenly gate" of An Toan highland commune (An Lao, Binh Dinh), a vast green medicinal forest has appeared, opening up a new way of making a living for ethnic minorities in the highland commune... An Toan medicinal forest emerges from its winter hibernation, bursting with green, blending in with the green of the vast primeval forests. To conquer the market of traditional medicine, Binh Dinh Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Company (Bidiphar) has built its own medicinal herb area at the "heaven's gate" An Toan with an area of ​​over 75 hectares to avoid dependence on naturally harvested or imported raw materials. With increasing demand, medicinal plants not only serve the medical industry, but are also a group of crops that generate income, create livelihoods and enrich people.

The spring sunshine tears through the thick fog covering the vast forest, awakening gardens of purple Morinda officinalis, red Polygonum multiflorum, Codonopsis pilosula... grown under the canopy of a special-use forest located at an altitude of nearly 1,000 m above sea level in the mountainous commune of An Toan (An Lao district, Binh Dinh). To meet the increasing demand for community health care from clean medicinal herbs, Bidiphar - Binh Dinh Pharmaceutical Company has invested in the Clean Medicinal Herbs Growing Project according to the World Health Organization's Good Agricultural and Harvesting Practices standards. The medicinal herb area project covers an area of ​​over 75 hectares, in An Toan commune, An Lao district, which is considered the "gate to heaven" in Binh Dinh. This is also a place to store and develop the genetic resources of natural medicinal herbs; providing high-quality and high-yield medicinal plant varieties to serve the needs of medicinal herb production according to GACP-WHO principles. In 2024, the Photo and Video Contest "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam" continues to be organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists on the website https://happy.vietnam.vn for all Vietnamese citizens and foreigners aged 15 and over. The contest aims to honor individuals and groups with positive information products, making practical contributions to the propaganda and promotion of a beautiful image of Vietnam to the world. Thereby helping people in the country, compatriots abroad and international friends access authentic images of the country, Vietnamese people, Vietnam's achievements in ensuring human rights, towards a happy Vietnam.
