Vietnam Military History Museum to start collecting admission tickets soon

At the Vietnam Military History Museum, officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces were introduced to 6 topics by museum guides: The early days of building and defending the country from 700 BC to 938; protecting national independence from 939 to 1858; fighting against French colonialism and gaining national independence from 1858 to 1945; resistance against French colonialism from 1945 to 1954; resistance against American imperialism from 1954 to 1975; building and defending the country from 1975 to present. On April 10, according to information from the Vietnam Military History Museum (General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army), after a period of free opening for people and tourists, the museum will begin charging admission fees.

Starting from Saturday, April 12, residents and tourists will need to buy tickets to visit the museum at a price of 40,000 VND/person/time. Opening hours: morning from 8:00 - 11:30, afternoon from 13:00 - 16:30.

However, many people will be exempted from entrance fees, including people under 16 years old, people 80 years old and over, war invalids, people with revolutionary contributions, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, and Labor Heroes.

Cases eligible for a 50% discount on ticket prices include: people with severe disabilities according to Clause 2, Article 11 of Decree No. 28/2012/ND-CP of the Government detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on People with Disabilities; senior citizens who are Vietnamese citizens aged 60 or older, with a senior citizen card or valid documents; students aged 16 or older with cards issued by national educational institutions.

The Vietnam Military History Museum has opened its doors to welcome and serve visitors free of charge since November 1, 2024 until now.

With a scale of 4 floors above ground and 1 basement, the museum has a construction area of 23,198 m2, the total floor area of the main building is 64,640 m2.

Currently, the museum is preserving and displaying more than 150,000 artifacts, including four national treasures: two MIG-21 aircraft (serial numbers 4324, 5121), T54B tank (serial number 843) and the Determination to Fight map in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign.
