On the afternoon of December 3, General Secretary To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission, visited and worked at the Vietnam Military History Museum (at Km 6 + 500 Thang Long Avenue, Tay Mo - Dai Mo ward, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi).

Also attending were General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Mr. Pham Gia Tuc, Deputy Chief of the Central Party Office, and representatives of leaders of functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense.
Visiting the Vietnam Military History Museum, General Secretary To Lam listened to an introduction at the Victory Tower area; visited large outdoor exhibits; the main building's lobby area; and visited indoor exhibits. Here, General Secretary To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission, signed the Golden Book of Remembrance.
According to the report, the Vietnam Military History Museum is one of the largest and oldest military museums in Vietnam, with an important role in preserving and promoting the military historical values of the nation. Since 2020, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the General Department of Politics have deployed the construction of a new Vietnam Military History Museum on an area of 38.66 hectares, at Km 6 + 500 Thang Long Avenue, Tay Mo - Dai Mo Ward.

As of November 1, 2024, the Museum has basically completed phase 1 and officially opened to visitors. With tens of thousands of images and artifacts, combined with many modern display solutions, visitors can experience vividly the military history and the nation's tradition of building and defending the country.
The main exhibition includes 6 themes organized according to historical process: Theme 1 - The beginning of building and defending the country, from 700 BC to 938; Theme 2 - Protecting national independence, from 939 to 1858; Theme 3 - Fighting against French colonialism, gaining national independence, from 1858 to 1945; Theme 4 - Resistance against French colonialism, from 1945 to 1954; Theme 5 - Resistance against America 1954-1975; Theme 6 - Building and defending the country after 1975 to present.

For outdoor exhibitions, the unique feature of the Vietnam Military History Museum is the collection of large-scale weapons. The large-scale artifacts are systematically arranged on both sides of the building.
The report at the working session showed that in phase 2, the project will continue to display 8 topics, 7 collections, 12 military specialties; restore typical military works; sculptures, outdoor experience space; creative space; eco-tourism; children's play area and service area for visitors.

Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary To Lam expressed his impression of the Museum space and its rich artifacts, vividly demonstrating the maturity of the heroic Vietnam People's Army; evidenced by the large number of people from all walks of life visiting the Museum.
The General Secretary emphasized that this is a red address for studying and researching closely related to the extremely heroic process of defending the country of our ancestors, especially the wise and talented directions of our Party in each stage of the country's development.

The General Secretary suggested continuing to convey the message of the people's role in resistance wars and in military and defense policies because our army is the people's army...
General Secretary To Lam requested ministries, branches and localities to continue creating conditions for the Ministry of National Defense to soon complete the second phase of investment items, effectively promote the value of historical and cultural works, which are red addresses for research, study, preservation and promotion of the heroic traditions of the Vietnamese people over thousands of years of building and defending the country.
